Nobody told me streaming was this fun, but just from talking to small VTubers and looking at /asp/ I don't get that impression. This is heaps fun! Even just talking is fun, and even when playing a game I would say it's genuinely difficult to not forget about the game while streaming.
I was also followed by two VTubers I recognize already, which feels like being followed by celebrities on your social media.

Set up channels and social media accounts
Start doing your post reps on social media, get in the habit early.
Consider what other stream elements you want to include in your streams other than your model and start planning on arranging them
If you haven't yet, learn OBS. Get that set up and learn how to use scenes and transitions.
Plan your content. Nothing causes a stumble out the gate like pushing Go Live and having no idea what to do.

Also read the OP. There's a lot of information you need to internalize, especially about opsec. That stuff starts from the word go.

I enjoy just talking to myself out loud and having conversations with myself anyway, but I'm a tinge crazy, so I get why it's not for everyone. My experience though also involved a lot of people, sometimes streamers, telling me I should stream, and I feel like the idea was very undersold, so that definitely contributes to my surprise. A lot of schitzos have left the server since then, but a lot of the cool people have too. It's kind of a much more quiet but still very 4-chan-esque server nowadays. I don't see the point in joining, as someone who's stopped posting there and moved onto lancecord and revcord. Still if you want, shoot your shot if you want to meet more /asp/ chuubas. It is and they've been doing it for a while, when it first started happening people would comment on it on YT discovery / streamer advice channels and the like, aka videos totally independent of the topic of these small obscure recommendations. You'll also see they follow a pretty consistent pattern: Low views, 2 or 3 result in the sidebar usually. Sometimes a suggestion in your end recommendations when a video ends.

The GDDR6 version of the 1650 is the best performing out of those options, just barely beating out the 6400 in most games. NVENC is a big bonus if you don't have the CPU power to bruteforce h.264 or an iGPU for QuickSync.

My three month wait period ended a week or so ago and I almost gave up until they reposted an ad for applications on their twitter. If you're still interested in two months, I'd say it's worth it to try again. Even if the next gen is a few months to a year out I'm still gonna apply because they'll be handling you for a few months beforehand to make sure everything goes smoothly, which means now is still a good time to try. Now if only I could stop choking on the video audition part that would be great

How important is a model to success? I'm currently active and making content, slowly inclining, so I already have a model in use. However it's barebones and I've had a model update in mind for a long time. The issue is that I have no idea what to do or go for. I have zero knowledge in terms of character design, and tutorials aren't helping too much. It's really stressing me out.

Any ideas where to go? Should I ask my artist? Any common trends for (male) vtuber designs that work? (Just want something to think about, I don't want to just chase trends.) Any advice would be appreciated. o/

A good model can help you catch more viewers that are curious or attracted to the design, how many of them you retain is up to your charisma.

How are we supposed to help you if you don't tell us what you need help with exactly. You said textures, aside from the a small screenshot you haven't shown the entire model or pointed out the exact texture that needs help. Considering you are working with VRroid which is hand-painted textures, they will always look worse when scaled up especially because the base resolution of these textures is very low for VTuber purposes. What I would start with is taking one of the textures, scaling up the base and then re-drawing it by hand, that should give you a significant upgrade in overall quality, but that's only guesswork. The low-res textures are the reason I don't bother with VRoid because if i have to re-do every single texture there's no point in using it in the first place. It could be used to make a base mesh, but even that is very limited.

Yeah, main shit really about textures. I tried to redraw / change existing - it's already better but still.. meh.
I just wasn't sure what to post, that's why added just face with some new blendshape, not to spam/overshitpost (more than already have done).
I will try to stick to textures. Somehow I managed unity on basic level but feel like need to go blender. Because all results Vroid+Unity in my case was not good.
Most struggles in hair textures and face (I fixed eyes to some level that not make eyes bleed too strong). I checked out booth and tried to make by myself something. But you see my most successful attempt on screenshot.
So.. Blender still looks like best option, as I understood

Bringing your model into blender won't magically fix it and the learning curve is pretty high. Especially if you're going to fix a vroid.
I would recommend going back to your design and making it more stylized. Anime characters work better when they're shaded with bold simple colors, look up cell shading.

Bold simple colors is a good idea to try, thank you. Cuz much shading makes Vroid looks.. Vroid. So it's good to try some matching color palette and not try too many mess in details. When details poorly bade - it only makes it worse (in my case it's pretty noticeable)

It's ok, find some learning points from all of these videos. I think a lot of people are too used to watching normal videos that they don't even stop to watch their own creations before submitting them. Are audio levels ok? Does the pacing of the video feel weird? Did I miss out on showcasing something that could give me an edge over others? Am I giving too much useless information in this audition video when I could just delegate it to the audition form? Are you paying attention to the thumbnail, video titles, and tags?

When I share these videos I'm not saying they are all bad, but there are certainly a blend of both good and bad points you can pick up on. Some just have (a lot) more bad than good kek

That third video is endearing in an autistic way, would groom. That last one is what I'd expect someone to do bare minimum if they wanted a shot at getting noticed.
