I've been thinking about this for the last few weeks since I've been considering becoming a Vtuber.
On the one hand, the idea of having a yume unicorn fanbase sounds great: an audience of women who obsess over you is an intoxicating idea.

Sometimes I get incredibly jealous of my oshi's Japanese female fans. Why the Japanese ones in specific? Because they live in the same country and speak the same language as him. My jealousy becomes hatred sometimes and it's a terrible feeling. They get to show off their merch and cute outfits at on-site events to my oshi like the hololive exp, oshaberi fest and concerts. I missed the opportunity to talk to him on zoom in 2021 and nothing like that will ever happen again because covid restrictions have become laxer, besides from the fact my Japanese is that of a 1 year old baby's and a meaningful conversation that isn't "wow I like your streams yes yes so cool sugoi kawaii thank you thank you!" wouldn't be possible.

I am jealous of them because of the language and merchandise they can get, but on the selfcare part I try to use them as motivation to dress better and doll myself up more in general. I rarely have chances to show off my efforts but when I do it's nice to go out in my oshi-inspired outfit.
I also use them as inspiration when I took photos of my merch putting cute filters on it trying to make it look cute.

I'll do a page 10 confession too: I understand there's a lot of women who don't mind female collabs but I really wish we would stop putting it out there so much. We'll never get any males that don't collab with females if we keep sending the message "actually, it's okay that you can collab with as many girls as you like". What's the point of even trying to groom indies and small corpos into being yume or unicorn friendly if we're just going to say "do exactly what every other male vtuber is already doing"? Again, I get if you don't mind female collabs as long as they're professional but why not just start right off with "I prefer no female collabs at all"? I hate it and I really don't care for women at all, even the ones that are "non-threatening".

Although I hate female collabs myself I've just grown to accept it to be honest. They always end up collabing with women no matter what. Even cbdcts golden cute boy moth boy will be doing a valentines date with some girl. Good luck with the grooming sister but Im done.
