The rewind mechanic at least serves a more conventional purpose (in the context of FE games in general) than it did in Three Houses at least since the game doesn't tell you how much damage an enemy will do to your unit if they're currently being targeted within their movement if you just hover them whereas 3H told you how much you'd eat shit which balanced out the fact you only had so many rewinds to start out with.
