-Tutorial for running KoboldAI local, on Windows, with Pygmalion and many other models. Also with TavernAI so you can load .json files and cards-

1-Download the KoboldAI client here:

2-Install Version 2 when prompted (dev branch) [IMPORTANT]
3-Go to the install location and run the file *install_requirements.bat*

4-After the updates are finished, run the file *play.bat* to start Kobold AI. It should open in the browser now
5-Now we need to set Pygmalion AI up in KoboldAI. To do that, click on the AI button in the KoboldAI browser window and now select the Chat Models Option, in which you should find all PygmalionAI Models.
6-Chose a model. It's now going to download it and start after it's finished. It will take time depending on your internet speed, 6B is 16Gb aprox

You should see 2 Tabs. the active one Characters and the second one Settings, click on settings
10-In the section API url default should be "http://localhost:5000/" or "http://127.0.0.1:5000". Click connect. The light should turn green

I tried to make an introverted character in Tavern+Pyg but its response is too positive. Is Pygmalion biased more towards positive response? Should I make example chat with more negative response to counter the bias? What kind of personality should i write so that they give more reluctant response?

Unironically yes since it most likely has few negative datasets. 6b models are usually tragically underdeveloped and according to /g/. Basically we should be just loading it with as much data as possible since even if they improved to a more powerful model the AI wouldn't improve much due to a lack of data.

TSF is a bit difficult with Pygmalion though. There’s this one pranked girl I’ve tried out and she acknowledges that she used to be a guy but the TSF aspects don’t go much deeper than that. From my understanding, CAI seems to be reaching Cleverbot-tier levels of message quality. Truly, it seems like the best course for now is to just leave CAI and exercise patience for a better service to come along. I've personally started putting my hopes into Pygmalion, but even it doesn't end up panning out (not that I can imagine that), something else will come around in enough time. AI is moving at a faster rate than ever before at this very moment. It's unlikely that we'll need to wait terribly long.

I'm just worried about the memory/token limitation issues, because if it is trained on franchise X, and you make a character from there, it's pure kino. You can use the bot info to elaborate on the lore it already knows.

OTOH pyg actually seems to do better with less written in the bot info, and if they miss your favorite franchise when training the base model, you're even worse off.

You can prompt scenarios and fetishes in the defs, including actions so you don't have to ooc tell the bot to use asterisks, but it's gonna be pretty basic since it doesn't seem to be tuned for RP. I've tried prompting it to be more verbose, but with no success.

nta but I try to post consistently. There's just not much going on right now. CAI is getting worse, nobody wants to use it. Pyg is DECENT but it's not "there" yet, so people are either just using it as a virtual onahole or don't have anything they feel is worth sharing.
