GURPS if you want one system to do anything adequately.
D&D if you want to have a wide variety of players and don't care if the ruleset is jank.
Storyteller/World of Darkness if you want a decent rule system for urban fantasy and don't care too much about power levels.
RiFTS if you want a game that literally does everything you can imagine and is exactly as much of a bookkeeping nightmare as that sounds.
