The avatars are they so they can improv a fictional character, though. And there are fictional characters that you would probably accept as "fictional" that are just actors playing themselves. What sort of distinction are you trying to make? In this particular case, why does it matter that the actress behind this particular fictional character that is largely improv isn't actually in a relationship with the actress behind the other fictional character?
