Former IRyStocrat here. Her personality leading up to and after the redesign has changed for the worse. Fewer streams, lack of effort, barely any members content. She had to pull out the asmr members stream after new years despite expressing how bad asmr is for her throat. The Christmas sweater contest where the majority of the winners were paypigs, artists and one utaite that she's known for years from her PL sealed the deal. Recently, it feels like a lot of people here are coming to terms with the realization of what vtubing is and parasocial chuubas like IRyS are bleeding views.

You're implying vtubing is parasocial then specify IRyS as a parasocial vtuber as opposed to what?
I'm not saying I believe these things, just that you can't imply vtubing is parasocial then specify a vtuber as being parasocial relative to others.

I don't view vtubing as parasocial, I genuinely enjoy chuubas who aren't IRyS or EN. I like Pekora because she's entertaining and uses vtubing to roleplay a character that makes for entertaining streams. I like Suisei because she's got her idol dream and I'm genuinely interested in seeing how it turns out for her.

GFE has always been the weakest shit in vtubing outside of the coomerbait. The medium peaks with girls who play anime characters in our world or with girls who simply use vtubing as a stepping stone as part of their journey where you may see them succeed/fail. E.g. Suisei's dreams of becoming a professional singer/idol. EN is borning because it lacks people who play characters (Fubuki, Korone, Pekora, etc) and it lacks people with ambition who are using their time at hololive as an opportunity (Suisei). The closest EN has is Bae who talked about wanting to become a voice actor and she did some shorts with different voices. I get she has other commitments but I think Suisei shows more passion with lots of music content as a portfolio to build and talking about her future goals.
IRyS should steer more into her music imo, even if she never makes it big she could still be one of the people hired to sing things for videogames.

I don't have an oshi. But that's for a good reason. I'm not going to support someone who won't even meet and greet with out their use of their avatar. As much hate mori gets here.
