Yea, we explained the situation that lead to him leaving, and he seemed happy to come back after we told him that people never hated him or his lore. Tho since we had quite a comfy little reunion last thread, it led to one of our schizos going nuclear with a report spree, so he might have caught a ban for it. Oh, that sounds upsetting and painfully similar to something that occurred in my home general as well! So it was *that* kind of schizo infestation the one you guys were talking about? I can't say much but send my condolences, I also strongly believe it was thanks to that cursed storm that caused our general to be so slow afterwards, but thankfully its healing slowly, or atleast I think it is. Place under a section called "Risu Intro" and make an new section called "Lore Docs" where the lore docs can go. Everything else under Risu lore can stay in "Lore".

A lot of changes have happened to Risu as lore has been fleshed out, and this tourist guide to the states that make up the Confederation should be useful in understanding. I think many of the timeloops come from a lack of knowledge, which I accept as my fault. Hopefully, this can be used to get everyone up to speed and also be a solid foundation from which lore and stories can be made from.

Also Ri2ner, I have been working hard on trying to emulate our thread and Risu. I really think as a whole, Risuners are Apathetic and Xenophobic so it only felt right to try to show this more. I would assume many of the city folk are xenophiles while other tribes are less receptive to outsiders. What do you think?

Umm, not quite. Flora is the capital of the Confederation of Risu (What holds all the states together.) while Hermes is the Capital of the Central Confederation. The reason Flora is seperate is because that would likely be a term since I doubt that all the others would be happy with one nation's own capital being that of the Confederation if that makes sense.

I think it can be quite well, Moonafic did something similar with his ideas (moon is horny too) and perhaps this can be litegury used during religious services. There are plenty of routes here so if you have ideas, I would love to hear them.

This is true, however the issue is that Infinity would need to come out of isolation sooner which cannot be fixed. What I am doing however is trying to provide real reasons for the ties to make sense such as through Agra. We can think more about this as I agree and that's one of the reasons I turned it from 1 into 11.

Unfortunately, tropical trees don't grow in our area. As for the nitrate, that just increases the fertility of the soil so we would get higher yields. The trees are likely going to be spec bio ones that grow faster and I thought it made more sense in that regard. On the soil, the problem about it overall is that we Risuners are lazy like our oshi. I cannot imagine us ever wanting to do more than what is required and if the soil is 3x, that's 3x the work right. I also am not sure how plausible "chuubanite soil" is given Chuubanite's radioactive tendencies and thought that instead of just using magical soil, use Nitrate, which is extremely good fertiilizer and something we can make way more money off of than just food. Does that make sense to you?

Overall, I wouldn't mind you writing about the government in more detail. I get the system completely, but details are always needed so starting with government would be wise imo. I think that there would be conflicting interests so maybe this is a good chance to show that. Also, the mhm rep is very knowledgeable on guild based economics if you want to get in touch with him over it.

hmmm, idk, Nitrate works just fine the way it is. I also think that Risu, who to me is a chaotic chuuba, should be manifested more in that form with chuubanite with the destructive weapons that are seen in From Agra with Love, but let's talk with OG about that.

Hi, Meprep! if it's about the centre's guild economy, here are my ideas

1. each tribal clan/community has their own guild that they use to do business with.
So in the central confederation, these guys are inspired by foreign influences and so far the big three that kept coming to risu (mhm, mori, infinity) have been in some parts decentralized. Ive said that each clan has the freedom to conduct business with whoever they want, foreign or local, without the intervention of the priesthood.

2. cottage economy.
Across the confederation there are farmers, foragers, fishers, miners, artisans, carvers. Each of them will have a role within each clan's respective guilds. each family is functionally a mini-production. a family can focus on foraging, making clothes, cooking food, pressing paper, crafting wands, ie and send the produce to the clan's guild.

3. The confederation need some unifying elements so that each clan behaves properly.
The clergy would own the infratructure, schools and temples so everyone gets basic needs. the guild system should be one of them.

I need help to formalize this system. your idea is great too!

i am actually ela's rep kek. ok so i think you have great ideas, but you need some polish. i firmly believe that you would have regional governments above the local governments, since you wouldn't want disputes to go to hermes right? warsuner made a map that shows the "division of power" in the confederacy into areas that you can think of as either regional government, or the main regional tribal governments. n

now, the first 2 are perfect but i think you need some guys, likely foreigners, that come in and help set up the system. i am prepared to send the cousin of the King of Lusitania, João, as one of these guys. now, i haven't worked out the reason why but he can be the one who helps set up the economy and governmental structure. other can be included, such as i know in artemis there is another guy, a pomeranian noble that was granted the land and developed into a hub of science, and you can get some kronies, deadbeats etc.

i will work out the trip with og later, but i also think that most people aren't going to be doing things as saints right. nuts as payment isn't going to work for say a man like João or many people, so what i suggest is giving him some land somewhere where he can be the "representative" of hereditarily (because he is a noble). it would be a nice gift to a founding father of the centre, but also give a reason. same thing with some others, they need reasons and we can figure that out.

more reasons, you are bordered by someone who likely strikes fear into you (joyo cahya), and for the west especially, Agra is the boogeyman. that is a good reason and with the right men in place, its possible to get them to work. we also have church and state work together btw.

well it would be organized by "tribes" regionally meaning the people of the same culture language and shared heritage. i personally do not think there are actually 200 different tribes in that area, and i am not even sure about all of risu itself. so what you would have is the localities maintain their autonomy, but more important stuff gets pasted up the line. guilds would operate on a regional level in principle, but also have nationally. let me illustrate this

resolving local disputes, and made up of representatives from each clan or village. this is where the guilds also are organized since you would want craftsmen from say, demeter and kenkerto to work together as one.

basically think like that. we are organized like that so you can take inspiration from us. you probably want an executive too, but how they are elected and their powers can be up to you.

you are correct about currency. i would recommend having coins with nuts emblazoned on them to show the heritage and name them after the nuts used as well. (i would say have them in the shape of a nut, but that would be hard to make even today...) the transition is hard, warsuner for example is paying for a lot of things with loans and futures. for you, you can have nuts set like a fiat (inside the confederation, i doubt merchants would accept) for now where the currency has a value set on it by the national government (when i say national i mean the centre), like acorn one unit of value, walnut two, brasilnut 100, etc. also, things such as corvee labour, tax exemptions for a period, etc can be used.

in the end, this is a lot easier than it sounds and the foreigners will be the way of the future for your confederation as founding fathers. does this make sense?

One thing that you have to remember is that the maps, and countries, are FUCKING HUGE!
/ybc/ anon can correct me on this, but I'm pretty sure I saw the number 2400km thrown at him when he asked for the size of /ybc/. So you can imagine just how big /hag/ is then.
If you had any major mines, even if they were very, very close to the border with /uoh/, they probably wouldn't extend much more into it than the line I use for the borders kek. You gotta know, mines are usually a pretty localized thing, specially in this day and age. You won't be digging tunnels hundreds of kilometers long into /uoh/, that's for sure.

so, the idea of a "kin glyph" makes more sense as a "hierarchy of generation" if that makes sense. so if you establish the idea of a hierarchy, and the idea of generation, then you can establish the idea of a thing reproducing things that can reproduce things etc. which can be used to create a glyph that can communicate how genetic heritage works. from there, you could combine a kin glyph with a glyph that references a person to refer to their family. when it comes to "hr" effects, you need all the data you can get, so just one type of glyph shouldn't be enough on it's own, hence why i mentioned the concept of a "boss" glyph. like the kin glyph, it uses the concept of hierarchies, but it also allows you to establish the existence of an organization. if you can create an artificial glyph that represents the idea of chain of command, ie typically a hierarchy that gains information bottom-up and makes commands top-down, you can get into the specifics of how you should define the position, but it shows you that the concept can be used to refer to an organization based on the person who is the defacto "ruler" which is important.
the size of the glyph should have nothing to do with the efficiency, and everything to do with the power of/and the effect. the communication is what should determine efficiency, specifically how precisely things are communicated. also how broad the effect is, recall that i said the transubstantiation should suffer an extreme version of the curse or blessing because it would be a distilled version of the effect that they are trying to apply to others, and it gets spread out more thinly over a larger population, which is why it also shouldn't be just a single person that is required for the transubstantiation. it takes multiple sacrificed to kill a god whose existence is more directly influenced by magic, so it should take potentially more than twice as much to influence real people due to the necessity to go in and out of the heavenly realm, so to speak. imagine it like putting a phrase through google translator (imperfect communication, but better communication might be like the other translator, deep something, you get the point) and then translating the output back into the original language (and then again if you can't read it) the errors in communication will double or even triple over depending on the imperfections in communication of the code you use to tell the program to translate the phrase, since in this situation there isn't an intelligent being that can just copy-paste the output into a new translation setting, you need to encode that interaction into the whole program, which allows for more room for error. also, the idea of a nation-wide glyph is awesome, and might be necessary for identifying a nation, especially by reference, meaning if you want to effect a nation with shad, you have to make yourself vulnerable to shad, which sounds like a fair trade since you can keep it secret, and it enables you to do a lot of other things.
also, unless the glyph is designed to have "charges" (ie, if it is made to be able to effect multiple targets) or if it is designed as a definition glyph (ie, it defines an artificial concept for use in other glyphs, such as the personal concept that defines an individual) the same glyph shouldn't be used multiple times for different effects. if it has charges, it should have a finite number of possible charges to balance things, and it's total output should not be expected to ever achieve the same strength as one that only has one charge. glyphs that can have their targets switched are viable, especially with the use of placeholders/embeded glyphs. see my explanation of the boss glyph. the strength of shad should also be partially dependent on the core values of the things they are influencing. you shouldn't be able to effect /hag/ with a /uoh/ concept and have /hag/ lose a bit of interest in /hag/, even if it's just minimal. it should stick more to things that already align with the effect that is being done. think of it like swimming against vs with the current in a swiftly flowing river. swimming against the current is almost exactly the same as not swimming at all, but swimming with the current makes you go noticeably faster. you shouldn't be able to completely remodel the core concepts of a nation just by cursing them with something else, but you should be able to influence them with the effects their core concept already has, being able to emphasize the good or bad traits that are most natural to that concept without losing any strength in the result. think of it like it is part of the communication thing, and that targeting something with a radically opposite concept leads to confusion, especially since shad is all about making something definitionally synonymous via the hr, and that is difficult when dealing with things that are literal antonyms, or that have an otherwise very loose or arbitrary connection.

Would it be easier to create a language specifically for the purpose of speaking to animals? When I was trying to speculate about /lig/ chuubas related to /ag/, I considered that Saa worshipers could have a kind of in between language that is used to bridge the gap between human and snake. In actuality, all language is a basic transaction of information and we're capable of speaking to lots of animals already but not in ways that convey complex information or nuance, you'd probably need to consider the animal and construct a relatable basis that the animal is capable of understanding like mimicking a mating call or making a basic noise that means hunger or pain and then branching off from there.

Hello and I’m glad you like it! I think pretty much the entire /vnug/ will be Christmas-y given its climate which probably also contributes to the hardy feeling. For a while I thought about calling /vnug/ the overwinter state since life in /vnug/ probably revolves around preparing for winter, surviving the winter, and celebrating that you survive the winter. A side effect’s that most of /vnug/ doesn’t really grow traditional food crops as most of the land is too cold for them so the typical diet will be predominantly meat (with fish for coastal/riverside population), fruits and berries, and other supplements harvested from the boreal forest. Symphoria’s probably an exception since its position and wealth mean imported grains and flour will be more accessible to them. I think that means baked goods like cookies will be present but likely as a luxury, although mixing flour with birch flour should be able to make the final product more affordable. As for housing I imagine shared houses are fairly common especially during the cold season both for fuel efficiency (at least that’s how I imagine it to work) and to look after each other during the trying time. They likely also spend a decent amount of time in sauna houses to help keep themselves warm and to socialize with others!

Also regarding trade, I think it's safe for you to think of it like this: You got your major deals, ones that would be signed between nations on major imports and stuff and you have your local trade, stuff that random merchants would trade with locals wherever they come.
Each anon has it's own way of doing things, but it is safe to assume that on the lower level, so the small merchants, you do trade with most of your neighbours. Whether you want to record those is up to you, but major trade deals, so the ones officially signed and ones that establish major trade routes, should have a record for them, like you have been doing so far.
