>Marine
>Pekora
>Fubuki
>Korone
>Aqua
>Suisei
>Miko
>Noel
>Okayu
>Subaru
>Haachama (got suprised she made it)
You can count Marine and Aqua out since they barely stream nowadays. If you replace Haachama with Ayame, you get one more.
That looks much better than EN.

>> No.39414097

>>39411455
I mean most if not all of them have taken extended hiatuses but generally not at the same time. And the one thing they have over EN is they are friendly enough to collab and know how to be professional. Plus, they actually earned their popularity, the most popular members are also the most active barring a few minor exceptions which is how someone like Koyori became one of the most popular while Laplus is forgotten. But, I think the real lesson there is if EN had as many members as JP, there's a good chance everyone would just forget all about EN's used up members of the past that haven't been active or relevant in years. It's only because EN is so small people have to pretend each member is important.

Miko, Pekora, Aqua, Haachama, and Marine have all taken extended breaks, longer than anyone in EN who's actually returned (except Ina, assuming she does, in fact, come back.)

>> No.39415131

People in here acting as if they watch every stream from every girl every day, I wonder how do you react when your favorite TV show airs only once a week or goes on a seasonal break

Go back and watch a VOD from every EN girl that you haven't watched before (I guarantee you pretty much no one watched 100% of a Holo's output), and you'll have content to binge on for weeks. I kek at the idea that you should only watch a Holo live just because it's called Hololive... and if you can't live without knowing what the girls are at every given moment, then that's very obviously your issue lol

>> No.39415268

>>39414367
Not only that. Marine and Aqua actually put in a lot of work behind the scenes on projects we actually get to see. Idk how Gura isn’t the Aqua of EN. Solo concerts, music, vn’s

>> No.39415306

>>39414623
That's the thing about EN breaks vs. JP breaks though. They aren't of the same quality. It's extremely disingenuous to frame the JP breaks as more extreme because when a JP takes a break, it's generally not their choice and they do it and then come right back to normal activity. But EN's routinely take a break and then pop back up just to take another break and they do this so much that it's not clear they ever returned or if they just aren't active anymore which is similar to someone like Aqua but not the extended breaks of some of the others. Ina was taking breaks before her current break, I already fell off her during one of those extended breaks and by the time she came back and I would have considered following her again, she left again.

The thing is, unless you are a completely mindless simp, you don't want to watch every stream. The whole point of being active on a JP level is there's more variety to choose from. You aren't supposed to watch every stream but plenty of JP's do multiple streams in a day so if you don't want to watch one because the game's not for you, you may like the other. When you only stream once or twice a week, those streams are not going to cater to most of your audience.

Let's look at the numbers.

Top 11 most subscribed JP members vs number of streams in the past month:
>Marine, 8
>Pekora, 30
>Fubuki, 31
>Korone, 13
>Aqua, 4
>Suisei, 12
>Miko, 23
>Noel, 14
>Okayu, 24
>Rushia, 0
159 streams in total

Let's do the same for all of EN:
>Gura, 3
>Calliope, 20
>Amelia, 9
>Ina, 0
>Kiara, 14
>IRyS, 15
>Kronii, 11
>Mumei, 17
>Fauna, 17
>Baelz, 21
>Sana, 0
127 streams in total

So team JP is streaming about 25% more than team EN. That's honestly not a huge difference, and I think some people are making this a bigger deal than it really is. The main problem is that JP can crowd around Japanese prime time where as EN needs to spread out to accommodate every possible timezone that has a significant number of English speakers. This is just an inherent problem with live streaming to a global audience.

>> No.39415640

EN would come out more popular maybe, but not better (Miko alone is worth more than all of EN). It would also require you to fast-forward EN's progress a few years and see where they are then which will probably be non-existent. Since the problem of Hololive's first 11 is they are almost all long out of their prime barring a few exceptions.

Also, shouldn't the question really be if you took JP's 11 most active members, would they be better than EN? Because that would put to the test if people's problem with EN is actually the lack of activity. Watame is infamous for being very active but she will never be one of JP's most popular. She's a C-lister in JP yet shits on all of EN in output. Would people prefer someone like her in EN over what they actually get?

By virtue of the most popular ones no, but they're popular in part for a reason, usually because they're active to begin with.

The analogy here would be as if EN had 35 girls instead. If you actually took the first 11 girls you would have to factor in Mel, Haachama, Aki etc in there alongside Fubuki/Miko/Sora where a lot of them stream irregularly these days and some of them have had huge gaps in activity now. Some of them lasted longer than others like Haachama but eventually had huge bouts of nostreams sooner or later. Hell Gen 2 is basically just Shuba and Choco these days even though it at one point had Aqua and Ayame.

>> No.39416379

When will you drama-hungry schizos realize that streaming more is inherently detrimental to your overall popularity? This isn't Twitch. YouTube is an entirely different ecosystem. Quality matters more than quantity. You don't just get free money for having a stream up. You need to be actually entertaining and know how to pace yourself so your audiance doesn't get bored of it too quickly.

Streaming more allows you to develop new routines/gimmicks/more audience interactions to occur. Not streaming only guarantees that you stay static, an image on a page that doesn't evolve much.

Even someone like Kaela who is basically wet blanket personality is well-liked and has a good audience because she streams like a freight train and has learned over time how to make what she is work. If you don't put in the time it's like never practicing for an instrument and so even if you were really good at one point, if you're constantly away from the audience for weeks/months at a time you'd get rusty and maybe not be quite in the groove as you used to be on return. If the girl is there all the time and becomes genuinely comfortable with leaning on chat like a hivemind friend that she banters with and keeps her company, it's mutually beneficial because she has more fun streaming and we get more content. The most popular JPs are often in this loop where chat is felt to them like a friend instead of an opponent judging them (you can tell Gura is always guarded-feeling like that, Sana was too etc).

>You can count Marine and Aqua out since they barely stream nowadays.
Marine still streams like three times a week.
>If you replace Haachama with Ayame
Why would you? You're grasping at straws to make it seem worse than it is.

I know what you meant because I understand how you misinterpreted the word. Part of dealing with ESL's and children is having enough reading comprehension to understand how people misunderstood a word. Just because ironic has an actual meaning doesn't mean I am unaware of what people who use it incorrectly mean by it. You clearly do not grasp what niche means because you thought it meant popular and then compared this site to reddit. Which is perhaps the worst comparison you could make in context since reddit's entire system is designed to cater to every niche imaginable (until they ban you). Your misunderstanding of language would mean you think every single subreddit represents the general populace including the ones that outright contradict each other.

>My selection of 11 favorite vtubers is inherently more appealing to me than all of EN!
This thread is stupid.

what issue ? lack of stream ? the problem is their work ethic, even for JP member like Aqua or Ayame who are lazy nowadays but they are different back then but EN member like only half a year after debut they already start to get lazy, i think the problem is most of them just want to get the hololive brand and doing minimum also simply because western woman since their newest JP gen aside from laplus are solid

I'm glad you like reddit so much, maybe ask them to explain the word niche to you. I doubt even they would coddle you.

Half a year? EN had members who checked out much quicker than that.
