I don't know if this can be reassuring for you, chumbud, but as someone who got a minor surgery before: if she got anything serious (i.e: some life-threatening issues), the doctors wouldn't let her out of the hospital within just a few days. She wouldn't get to discuss with her managers about the break - she will just have to take it.
If I'm to guess, I think she might have to take some sort of minor surgery (i.e: gallbladder removal), which will force you to rest for a month or so (although most young people will be able to walk around a day after the surgery). They want to minimize the chance of her missing HoloFes4, so they decided that she will take the surgery ASAP and rest for a month or two instead of delaying it further.

It's either going to be something that requires surgery OR cancer. I'm leaning more towards cancer. From what little is known, she went to the doctors and was told not so good news and it stressed her out. She didn't want to elaborate on it too much but if I recall correctly, she was happy she got the news even though it was kind of bad. That leads me to think that they found a tumor or a messed up organ that wasn't doing shit right. They prescribe medications and treatments first before opting to remove something if it's surgery related. It either progressed or the treatment failed so they are now continuing with the next steps. Regardless of if it's surgery or cancer, you are told to reduce stress while recovering so the break makes sense.

Or maybe she works the night, got preggo, and went full Christian and decided to keep the baby.
