You don't need to write as fast as anyone else. Do it at the pace that's comfortable to you. Some days you'll write faster than others, some slower.

You can save editing for the end of the piece though unless the edits you have in mind would have a ripple effect on the content itself.

Sometimes thinking about word count per day puts me in a bad head space. It makes it feel more like work. If I were to set a daily goal it would be something more like "get to, or finish X scene"
