Why do you guys bother with HoloEN?, like, seriously, there's a decent amount of indies and other corpos chuubas that actually do care about their work and don't treat it as some kind of hobby, yet most of HoloEN believe they are some kind of superstars and ignore or outright hate their fanbase while doing whatever they want with no repercussions at all, and YOU, yes YOU ATM-kun are endorsing and feeding their delusions of grandeur, YOU are the problem.
This ain't 2020 anymore, the market is like 10 times bigger, if a chuuba behaves like shit you move on it's that easy.

So why you keep supporting them?, of course I'm not talking about those who stream regularly like Fauna or Mumei, but the ones like Kronii, Ame or Gura.

I enjoy Bae sometimes too, she has the most naive energy and is cute playing chuuni games like Persona where she really pulls you in and isn't just quiet or mocking things. IRyS has grown on me, she's a fun brat.

It's just the same reason why everyone just sticks with windows/macOS instead of choosing a libre OS. Initial learning curve, preferring to stay in the comfort zone and being scared/confused by the huge amount of choices out there.
There is a vtuber outside HoloEN that will match your particular taste in entertainment better than a holo could. You just need to lurk through lots of streams to find her, and this is the part the holoEN fanbase doesn't want to do and feels its more of a pain than it's worth.
I say lazy streamers for lazy people.

Don’t forget the fact that if you’re used to HoloEN, you might not even *know* that there’s other ways of doing vtubing that don’t involve acting like Hololive. The reason Lumi is my oshi is that before her, I didn’t know there was a way to do vtubing that didn’t involve being (or acting like) a depressed NEET with no ambition in life and no academic interests outside of weeb shit. Since then I’ve found more vtubers who actually excite my brain as well as my dick. Phase introduced me to the small corpo meta, and for that I’m grateful to them.

I basically just watch Vesper and Idol Corp at this point. That covers all of my bases and free time. And then I'll watch other kino streams if they come up. And if I'm awake I might put a JP stream on in the background if Marine or Polka are streaming.

Like others have said, HoloEN is safe, comfortable, familiar. You know exactly what you're getting. It's like Call of Duty or FIFA games, they never really push the envelope or try to evolve and rarely do something different, but it has very, very consistent quality all the time.
Small corpos are like b-tier games that might become cult classics down the line, but are barely known by the public in the moment.

Lots of likeable personalities and fun to have as background noise sometimes. I often stumble upon watching Mumei, Ame, and Kronii. They are not perfect by any means, but still entertaining.

Around the beginning of this year I took the EN indie pill and never looked back. I've also made significant progress on my JP reps this year and have started enjoying some nijiJP lately, even though theyre corpo they don't really feel 'feel' as corpo as holos imo
