Fauna has the highest protagonist energy. The way she started out as the least popular in Council after Sana and has worked her way up to nearly the top through hard work and smart decision-making makes her the top candidate.
She's also friends with basically everyone and always supports her collab partners, no matter who they are. The fact that she was a Gura fan before even joining and has managed to become friends with her oshi is just icing on the cake.

Fauna wants to be a delicate little princess who is pampered and cared for by everyone around her, which is why she enjoys playing up how scared and vulnerable she is. In reality though, she's one of the tougher members of HoloEN in terms of mental fortitude. I mean, look at how she handled her cat dying, or how she carried the Ender Dragon fight. Because lots of people hate her around here. But she's a good choice for season 2 protagonist, she has an arc and everything. Coming from the lows of the bad collab era, actively working to improve herself after it, huge upswings in her music career, into the increasingly strong "season 2 mori" mode, where she was putting out strong collabs and good streams. And then it gets really rough with the Connor superchat arc, and then the UMG signing as a season finale.
Ame has similar interesting stuff going on in the same time period.
And then for season 3, Fauna's rise as a bastion of HoloEN during the rocky times of Sana's graduation, Tempus drama, inactivity from lots of the branch. She's been holding everything together.
