I double checked and everyone but Calli ever had an xmas intro, but both Ame and Gura dropped it last year for whatever reason. Ame did some in-season watchalongs at least as well as streaming on christmas. Gura did zero solo xmas shit unless there were unarchived karaokes.

Calli has never been festive apart from the final few days of christmas last year and the usual group collabs. Maybe being coof-stranded for two years made her numb her festive spirit as a coping mechanism.

Besides, from my understanding JP mixed collabs weren't within the company with Stars, they were like cross-company events. To me that's still different from environment with regular interaction. Either way, it's going to cause problems if you go back and forth on the product/environment, because expectations get built. The "idol" approach isn't exactly new, I don't get why you're getting mad that consumers come to expect that as a result of what they've been doing for years.
In fact it's very easy to argue that Gura is one of the few that's been the most consistent in terms of consumer expectation. She simply continued to do what EN had been doing since its inception, and as a result her fans didn't get upset. Some were flip flopping and pissing people off, but Gura knew what the fans had come to expect and didn't pull out the rug under them and expect them to change their tastes and expectations.
