> Realistically, do you think any of the current small startup agencies like Tsunderia, Prism, Phase Connect, Kawaii, Cyberlive, etc. have a chance of making it to hololive/nijisanji levels of success? Or is there no hope for underdogs anymore?

Phase has come a long way from that 200 CCV Pippa and Tenma could get at the start of the year. Pippa, Tenma and Lia breached 1k CCV this year on multiple ocassions. Pippa surpassed 100k subs recently. Their second generation is taking a bit of time to find their own footing.
Prism is eternally stuck into place, sold out to Sony, but nothing except collabs with JP 2views came out of that. Shiki neck hurted her career into irrelevance.
Tsunderia lost their entire first gen when Urara (manager) left. Amiya is very loved but has declined slightly from 200ccv to 150ccv. Not looking good for them unless their 3rd gen explodes in popularity.
Cyberlive imploded in one of the most hilarious ways. First they got Lumi and Yuri poached from them, and the remaining talents got exposed as a den of snakes. Hylo abandons the ship to become a generic twitch thot. Then the company collapses into an indie group. And then the manager (also vtuber) gets exposed for sleeping around with her fans and doxxing the other girls to them, hilarious.
I know very little about Kawaii, but I think Nene is doing good. Their third generation is not doing too hot, actually is doing worse than Phase Alias.

It's not really a decline, she just hovers between those numbers depending on the stream. She still passes 200 regularly and she's gone over 300 in recent karaokes.

>Phase connect:
>None so far, PIppa knows she'll never be mainstream but has creative streams, Uruka is god awful at streaming outside of her singing streams and Tenma is focused on niche indie games and isnt concerned about Numbers. Lia is also trying to find her footing too.

Lia went through a model redesign and is doing a lot better as the actual menhera girl of the group.
Pippa proved the "edgy gamer" crowd (as she herself described) is not as small as /vt/ thought it was.
Tenma isn't exclusively a roguelike streamer anymore and has taken to pandering to the normalfag twitch crowd, collabing with everyone under the sun, is doing kinda okay with it, as much as /vt/ hates that.
Uruka took a long ass break and has still not found her footing as a streamer.

>very likely that people couldn't name every member of the corp

Prism is reclining. Luto rarely streams and whatever shiki did to piss off her audience made them irrelevant. They went from solid 3views last year to high 2views. Sony gave them a couple of unique opportunities to exploit, but it never gave them any solid growth except bring in some jp viewers from sony JP. The corpo feels very scattered as a brand. They are following the same path as Tsunderia.

Kawaii is doing great all things considered. They don't have the same clout as Phase, but they aren't as top heavy when it comes to their talents successes. Oceane has some fast growth for a small corpo chuba. The same can be said for Lua on a lesser extent. Nene still does fine. They had one high drama graduation but that just united them even more after the successful kickstarter. They are what I would expect a small corpo growth should be.

People are sleeping on kawaii, the girls are really fun and have great stream presence and chat interaction. Nene has a very dedicated fan base and is inclining slowly but steadily, ocean is doing really well keeping up with the algorithm and has more growth then nene. The rest of the gen 3 girls are doing ok but honestly they deserve more exposure. I actually like the fact that kawaii is smallish because it keeps things more intimate, i just want all the girls to be able to go full time. Also no male colabs so thats good

Yeah didnt think the 4chan pandering was the smart move but pippa went from 200 ccv a year ago to 1800k her past few streams. So I dont think its really hurt her as much as everyone thought it would. Maybe hurts her chances for certain collabs but shes had pretty great growth channel wise.

The other girls all have steadily increased. Lumi regularly pulls in the 700s. Tenma a little less but not by much. Lia mid 3 view territory. All the girls are 3 views. Its just been a slower increase for most of them.

Even if the market for vtubers is still new, nothing short of hololive/niji imploding would give them the chance to.
Niji EN is completely drowning their current talents with new release after new release. It's how the strategy works.

Does a lot of great karaoke and voice acting in let's play but she hardly goes above 2views. She is super sweet and will brigthen up your day with her optimism. But I feel her numbers get hindered by how litle she interacts with her viewers compared to other vtubers like Amiya or Aletta Sky (my beloved)

I think any of them can. They'd need a breakout star, years of waiting, and the self-control to focus on building and sustaining an identity rather simple profit, though. It's not impossible, just too much to ask for.

>Pippa may be getting bigger but she's leaving Phase Connect in the dust in the process rather than bringing it up with her
That's more on Fishman's fault, Pippa is given the most talent freedoms but she's pretty much left doing her own thing while the rest are subject to what Fishman and the mods want (a less yab and more censored Holoclone). Lumi has the potential to explode like Pippa but can't because one of the masterminds of the censorship is her main mod. Lia also has the potential for explosion, she is just as unhinged as Pippa and her mods are also pro freedom, but the problem is she plays debuff games like Genshin.

>> No.38850087

>>38814556
Small corpos are doing much better now than they were a year ago. Phase, Idol, and Kawaii all have talents that get >500 ccv, whereas a year ago most of these girls could barely retain 100. They might not be NijiEN tier yet, but it at least shows that yes there is potential for growth even now.

I'm a little saddened that Prism got left in the dust because they are my favorites, but in all honesty they aren't entertainers, and it doesn't help that Luto's clocked out.
