Subs are an irrelevant metric and only fun for milestones. Although even then I think it would be easier to appreciate the milestone rewards the Holos get if there was more transparency on what they spent them on. But that would never happen because there'd be too much obvious disparity between those who spent it on themselves and those who did on their fans.

Yep, subs count in Vtubing doesn’t matter at all because of the inflated numbers from their debut which is still crazy to me that over 300k people will subscribe for a debut but only 1-2k people will continue watching them if they are lucky.
