The typical expectation is that contemporary vtubers can't be bothered to act much and there really isn't much of a character at all. The ""character"" fills the dead air by telling you what the ""voice actor"" had for lunch. Hiring someone other than the ""voice actor"" to play the video game for the vtuber character is uncommon and poorly received.
