He's right about it for various reasons. But even though dungeons were peak, music was peak, equipment/inventory was peak, the most important reason is the main character.
He has the most relatable hero story. Instead of his sister being kidnapped or having to recover memories from 1000 years ago, he has to leave the safety of the forest to combat some evil powerhungry nation that even though you had never disturbed him ultimately would land upon your doorstep.
He has to deal with no longer being a child, and saying goodbye forever to a comrade that helped him get through everything and made sure he was the hero.

I feel bad for kids who grew up playing BotW instead of OOT. BotW is a fun open world game that completely wears out its welcome after 30 hours, but still has 30 hours more of samey content after that. And the story is very mid.
OOT is the perfect video game, a completely tight experience from start to finish, bar a few very rare stumbles, with an excellent story.

Nah but there's a lot of really entertaining things about the gameplay. The ocarina controlling the time of day, weather and teleportation. You could play with the ocarina too, which is fun if you're a child who video games are mostly aimed for.
You can ride a horse, shoot arrows and destroy obstacles with bombs.
There's side quests and mini games.
There are sneak mechanics.
There are weapon upgrades.
There is this fun thing the scarecrow and backtracking in general that lets you find secret areas.
There is two versions of the same world that you can interchangeably experience.
The progression isn't even linear, you don't have to do the dungeons in the order it suggests you do.
The game has so much to it.
