Many holos are close friends with the nijis and a lot of their streams are genuinely funny.
The "fans" or nijisanji however have a massive jealousy boner for hololive and have time and again harassed and caused harm because of their tribalism.
No hololive fan has bothered any nijisanji member, but multiple holo members have had to give apologies (one even graduated) because of the antis from niji.

Boring makes no sense, there are thousands of indies, some of them boring, some of them interesting, people are just lazy and don't wanna do the scouting work and prefer prefiltered content like Hololive. Quite a few indies got following on /vt/ however, like the africats, Nina, Koopa, or beatani.
They do have a higher amount of groomer fans obviously due to being so small and basically very close to their fans. Tho the grooming can go both ways. Not that it's a bad thing.

Rival yes, hated on principle not really, lot of shitpost for fun, but their general is doing decently well. I agree they're not liked as much, but seeing how NijiEN feels like discount Holo and how they didn't try to set themselves apart, I can understand there's not much reason for a holo fan to look at basically a worse version of what they already have.

True, altough you can tell people are more open to Ironmouse and a bit of Melody. They're not liked because they're much more "normies with an anime avatar" than holos. The whore reputation is partly based on reality and partly made up, it's just that some overuse sex joke. Lastly, Nyanners is indeed an hypocrite, you can still like her of course, but that fact doesn't change.

True. Not helped by the fact many of those smaller companies tried to emulate Hololive without adding much. For others, there's still little reason to watch some twitter company over indies, the downside of being corporate have to be compensated by things like high quality scouting and production, which most smaller companies don't offer at all.
