Why are southeast asian vtubers so disconnected with the EN vtuber comunity? They speak english and some of them have more than 100k subscribers. Yet they are not popular in the EN community. Why is it like that? How can they fix this problem?

>> No.3760745 [DELETED]

They can't from the outside, unironically they need to unite their fanbases (not happening) and teach them to not be so fucking cancerous, that's the only thing filtering them so bad, it's like if a fucking /vt/ sized board broke containment and spreaded all over the normie net of SEA, fucking terrible.

My guess is not enough GFE for EOPs. From what I have seen they are a bit more like regular streamers. This and a few other threads has me looking more into them though so if this thread is still around or another like it I will post a more educated theory later.

If they all speak English then they should sell themselves as English vtubers. "ID" is an unnecessary debuff. I mean, is Kiara in HoloGR?

>> No.3762131

>>3761834
Reine does very well too. Her along with Ollie are really the class of ID as far as popularity goes. I feel like Risu could be a lot more popular but her decline is all her fault since her streams are so inconsistent and she seems to purposely debuff herself by not singing when that is absolutely her strength.

Ollie, either by luck or actual competence, engages heavily with clippers and other people seen as "major community players" on Twitter. She's also really easy for those sorts of people to empathize with, since she's basically a fangirl that got hired and is seen as "the girl on the inside" to many.
Reine and Moona both do okay, Iofi and Anya both walk to the beat of their own drums anyway, and Risu is too busy shitposting on /vt/ to bother getting herself out there, but she's doing okay, too.

It's almost like being on the other side of the world means your stream times don't work for most EOPs

So unless they start aggressively courting Australians and New Zealanders the only way most people will ever find them is through VODs

It's better to focus on your intended market instead of trying to pander to Americans.

Look at the case with HoloID vs NijiID+Maha5. HoloID is undoubtedly a lot more popular than the other two agencies, but they have no real presence in their local market. NijiID and Maha5 got some sponsors from local business and often invited to local events. But HoloID only got sponsorships from foreign brands intended for foreign markets. This is not good for the long term, local fans tends to be more loyal than foreign fans. Foreign fans will move to other vtubers if they found someone more interesting that speaks their language.

wasn't moona invited to some seanig convention? Do local fans really contribute that much compared to foreigners, especially since seanigs are literally poor 3rd worlders? What sponsorships have holoID received? I would think foreign non-seanig brands would be more prestigious compared to 3rd world brands; and therefore getting a sponsorship from one would boost their status, making local brands want to get in on clout.

they shouldve learned japanese instead of the shitty useless globohomo language. bora proves that. she learned japaenese hard while playing games well, and is getting popular in the japanese vtuber scene.

the western indie vtuber scene isnt so big, and most globohomo viewers dont give a fuck about indies, and the western indies arent organised at all, lack standards.

Actual answer that nobody will except because it's so simple and obvious: It's the accents. People are naturally put off by heavy accents. Japanese is at least a pleasing language to listen to, but SEA languages sound harsh and it effects their accents when they speak English.

Nobody will want to admit it, but it's just nature. It's nobody's fault. People are just like this.

Actual SEAnigger here (cringe I know) but it's because the majority are streamers themselves and once they transition into Vtubing, don't bother to change up their formula and just do the exact same thing as before except with a live 3D/2D avatar.
