Hey deadbeats, I'm sure there's a lot of working people here, please I need some help advice.
So, I'm pretty fucking tired, from my job. I love it, but it's taking its toll. I'm completely drained, there's 0 creative juice left in me, no desire, I just want to lay down and stare at the celling for at least week. And I feel like I'm letting down my co-workers with subpar performance. But I don't want to work, I don't want to read, I don't want to watch, I don't want to talk to anybody, I don't want to do anything. I would prefer if my bodily functions would also take a break but maybe that's asking too much.
Anyone been here? What can you recommend? I'm not sure I can make it to those couple vacation days around new years time. And even if I do, there's way too few of them. If I take a vacation, it should be 6 month at least, or at least it feels like it should be. Thinking about what to do with all this drains my mental faculties even more. Deadbeats...

If you actually love your job this sounds like a tad more than burnout and maybe should consider actual counseling.

Alternatively here is my playbook I used for working at shitty job I hated. I would come home and immediately meditate for 30 minutes to an hour, if there are other things like chores or "needs to happen" stuff I would do for another hour or two. After that you gotta make yourself do "whatever you want" until you sleep. Doesn't matter what it is, reading, video games, screaming in the shower. Gotta train your body out of work mode into leisure mode. Absolutely ignore all work emails/communication whatever until your back on the clock the next day. I would also add you are probably doing better than you think at your job and/or no one notices your subpar performance. Twice now I thought I was "letting the team down" when I was easily top 10% as far as work efficiency went.

Since you love your job this part may not apply, but I would look for other jobs during work hours when I felt burnt out.

Certainly possible, I used to work in concrete cube of a building. So I would wake up, work, and then come outside to sunset. Literal see like 30 minutes of sun a day. Drove me into a hole every year.

Yeah, sunlight is a lot more important than most people realize in terms of mood. Cold weather climates that are overcast for basically the entire winter can have a significant effect on your mood, it really helps to spend time outside when the sun does come out during the winter, even if it's still cold

I was talking about pokemon. It's actually pretty common to hack in rare candies for nuzlockes that have level caps to avoid the grindy parts so I have no issue if she spends a few hours to bring her party up to a reasonable level.
