It is the server time, every day at 9:05 server time there is an adjust based on channel performance, at 16:02 mutual fund buy/sell orders get processed. Then divs get put out at midnight friday/early saturday every week.
Some more detail about it on the info tab if you are curious. There is also an autotrader on the market page under the magnifying glass, click on the calendar icon.

The clock getting auto-centered regardless of resolution was mentioned a week or so ago. It is an intended feature and one of the QoL updates on the site.

...its been there since at least August 5th 2021. I can try and find an older screenshot.
But anyways, nasfaq is extremely unfriendly to resolutions that low. It's a lot more usable once you zoom out to 75%. Depending on your browser you might need to refresh for it to redraw the graphs with a better aspect. That might be why I always saw it, I was always at 67% or 75% zoom at a resolution even lower than yours. I stopped using the graph view entirely, it's a complete dog unless you want to dedicate an entire CPU core to it.

Aside from the 20-30second initial page loadin, its usually fine for me on a 7 year old intel cpu (all graphs enabled). Sometimes I'll hear it chug for a second if a lot of graphs update at once. The only thing I can think of is limiting the graph update period from 15 transactions to like every 30 or 50 and that would space out the updates slightly more? I dont really know enough about the graphs to optimise them. Thoughts?
