More than that, what >>36733844 said also seems to be true, Towa seems to have been particularly affected by both the algo change and the natural attrition of EOP, moving away from watching JP chuubas to watch Myth.

EOP helped Towa and Aki not to kill themselves (figuratively, by losing their hope and graduating) but for as long as they didn't try to fix their local issues and grow their local market they had a HUGE anchor holding them down.
As soon as they fixed it (in 2022) they started growing.

For Towa, her role as an organizer for assorted collabs into the NY MK streams -> Startend helped build momentum and inclined her. She's coming back down now with the weakness of Apex and FPS steams in general at the moment.

I think it's accurate to say that current Hololive, that being the JPs, doesn't need non-JPs at this point to stay relevant, assuming most of the current audience is JP.
