i've been watching hololive less and watching the old non-chuubas i used to follow more. the content is the same but with less bullshit and restrictions and the fans are less insane somehow.

JP holos actually were not being culled and it was a big issue for awhile and still is it seems. Even if they were accurate, views would still be the superior way to gauge popularity since not everyone can catch live streams, but the live views are always counted in the vod views. Also the demographics between streamers can vary quite a bit especially with EN vs JP. JP live views get a buff just because they are JP and a vast majority of their fans are all in the same timezone vs EN where even NA viewers can have a 3 hour difference which can mean missing a stream or you can have extreme cases like Mori where she has a large viewer base in Japan and NA but also streams at shit times for both from being busy with music shit most days. That's why her vod views for the most part look liek someone who regularlly gets around 10k CCV, ignoring 2 recent exceptions of Live a Live and VA-11 HALL-A which is a multi part JRPG and VN, 2 things no english viewers watch for whatever reason.
