This plus Fubuki, who a lot of the older fans consider the heart of Hololive, has been trying to change the idol culture within Holo for years. Not only collabing with the boys more than anyone else but also stepping in to tardwrangle when unicorns tried to end Towa's career over a male voice.
This is an internal change that's been a long time coming, unicorns have always caused trouble for Holo.

When the fuck did I say otherwise, or that HoloEN wouldn't be? My whole point was that this has nothing to do with Niji, I expect EN collabs collabs to be similar to the few JP has, just with of the branch participating.

It feels dreadful. HoloEN was already stagnating, many of its talents loathe their audience, use Hololive to push their personal careers and suffered from burnout. One of the bitches even quit.
Things could not be worse for HoloEN.
Meanwhile NijiEN spent a year cultivating its own audience independently from HoloEN. That's all fair and nice, the two can easily coexist.
But now HoloEN is trying to emulate NijiEN to steal its audience, it's going to backfire and instead of reclaiming an audience that doesn't even tune in to HoloEN in the first place they will give up their brand identity and their strategic advantage.
Hololive is for vtuber idol comedians. that synergy is what makes it stand out.
Idols are segregated by sex, they can interact but it's on a case by case basis like how they do it in Japan.
Trying to merge the two branches completely ruins that idol appeal and it's gonna leave HoloEN without its niche.

We're watching a great company die in front of us, it's gonna be slow and painful. They still have the chance to change course at any point but if they really commit to their Holosanji plan the branch is as good as dead.
NijiEN numbers are already reaching HoloEN levels too much for it to be "exceptions" at this point.
We're gonna see a reversal where NijiEN dominates HoloEN soon and it's gonna be bad management's fault.

They need to segregate the branches completely, debut EN3 and force all of the girls to stream more.
