Interesting. That could definitely allow for some more depth when it comes to the history of the place, and might let me be able to play with some of the stuff I find fun about both concepts. I liked thinking about /lig/gers throwing tree trunks like stereotypical Scottish clansmen, but the idea of society progressing to a more scholarly focus overall while still having members of it who remember and respect the old ways sounds really cool to me.

Not really what I was thinking. When I say enlightenment, I was thinking more along the lines of a magic-focused society more akin to mage scholars from fantasy games. All of them using different methods to garner knowledge from their different gods and debating each other over their findings.
All three of my ideas would have outliers, and what I lined out would just be the main layline for the society that different sects would deviate from in different ways, whether that be rituals, methods of study/magic/convening, or any number of cultural norms.

And definitely. Could really open it up to how different clans developed between each other. Some of the more scholarly with cities while others more looser communities. I'm interested in what ideas you had about Chinese-mongolian buddhism.
As far as race goes, I've been running with the idea of a rather homogeneous nation. Though, I haven't put much thought into how adding multiple races could add to the lore building. Been considering how to incorporate the blue skin of Manhattan, whether through outright skin color or traditional tattoos or something else entirely.

The gulf is interesting. When I was doing crop analysis I concluded the gulf was warm. Which meant the savannas in /vrt/ are wet and humid like Brazil.

technicly there is nothing stopping you from havign several races, risuners for example are humanoids with squirreltails already and we got this whole chuubanite stuff that helps explaining the more magical side of things, it is quite the detailed stuff but on a very rough basis, it is a magical ore that based on a threads concept allows for magical stuff to happen.

I also feel like this (inb4 going behind everyone's back again!) should first be discussed between us 3(yes, I am pulling you into this deadbro) since we are the ones that talked about it the most. If you want a better example, take picrel: on one hand, it could be just a chinese symbol, but it means belevolence and has deep roots in confucianism and is one of the main virtues of it.

Well!! I'm gonna put aside the religious factor and take the political one!! Mongolia prior to Temujin was a fractured nation; only mongolians that lived in developed cities weren't nomadic, but they were a very small percentage of all mongolians. Now, it's where it gets a little hazy for me!! Nomadic religious mongols usually traveled with religious artefacts for blessings and good luck, and more often than not, yurts were put for buddhist sermons!!! Now with Kublai Khaan it gets a lot more different!!! Since he conquered the entirety of the Song, he had to work with an entirely different people that weren't used to nomadic behavior. Kublai overhauled part of chinese bureaucracy in order to represent all of the different ethnicities in china; making them more obedient. Chinese emperors usually favored their own ethnic groups, such as the Qing with the Manchus. In the end, a lot of different ethnic groups were represented and their religions stopped being oppressed during the Yuan. In fact, there was a large influx of muslims into china after the establishment of the Yuan Dynasty!!!!

That's really interesting! I love the idea of them carrying artifacts for good luck as nomads. That kind of cultural significance placed into objects those carry with them is something I really enjoy. I don't know a ton about the Mongols outside of some base knowledge and timelines. It's something I'd definitely like to research more of. Don't worry about rambling. I'm happy to hear it out, and thank you for informing me on a lot!

The schizo wasteland is for all means and purposes, already up for grabs, so no concerns with provincying it. RBC has a decent amount of lore written, including a map, and multiple mentions in /nasa/ lore, so I would tend to leave it alone. I can't think of anything from ChocoMel, so it might be a candidate.

I'm not too familiar with geology, but you can probably expect decent mineral resources in the mountains, including lead, zinc, copper, and gold. Iron can also be found in decent quantity, perhaps more in the south as part of the Sakuran large igneous province.
As for rock types, southern Hoshiyomia will likely be predominantly ignerous due to the constructive plate boundary, so rocks like basalt and gabbro. In the north, the majority of rocks will be sedimentary in nature, although especially in the mountains, high-T, low-P metamorphic rocks like blueschist will be more common due to the stress caused by the orogeny.

It's possible if the land used to be forested wetland in the past, which then sank and later resurfaced as part of the /who/ landmass, but I feel the amount would be relatively low. Another issue is the quality of the coal - high quality coal like black coal require a somewhat specific set of temperature and pressure to form, and the lack of known tectonic activity in the west means the coal there will likely be low quality lignite and maybe sub-butiminous coal. While the orogeny in the east might lead to the conditions that could result in the coal metamorphising into something higher in quality, it tends to happen deep underground, and the new orogeny means they're yet to be exposed by weathering (compare the Himalayas with the Appalachians), so you'll have to dig through kilometers of hard rock to get to those deep deposits, which I think is not really practical given the current technology.
As for RL analogue, I guess the closest would be the Tarim basin, but ultimately it doesn't seem to be something that is currently happening on Earth (if the Council Plate's the one subducting under the Major Holo Plate, then the Ganges valley of India would be a fairly decent analogue).

You see, /vt/ does not have an Age of Discovery, because world maps have already existed since.
There is no need to map out the world when globes carried over from the /jp/ era stayed.
This created an age of stagnation where people just stayed isolationist and apathetic. Contained in their threads, no bother going out it's all schizo hordes.
Then someone started going on an adventure and discovered a revelation; every piece of world map is wrong or outdated. The /jp/ split was not 1:1. Continents are missing, geographies are different. Cultures that were once neighbors are all thrown across the world. And once huge /jp/ superpowers (774, HLGG) have become shadows of their former selves.
So this starts an Age of Rediscovery. The foundation of /vtwbg/ and the mapping arc.

The Med still had a lot of trade despite the problems posed by the Barbaries. Not very familiar with Mediterranean piracy and its relation with trade but there should still be quite a lot of interest to keep trading in that area due to how many presumably populous nations there are to the West of /2434/. Exactly how much disturbance are caused by piracy in the Holosea and the Sea in Nijineutral needs to be discussed at some point I think. There would be a push to find alternate trade routes in the East I think but not enough to completely push them out from the West. Too bad we don't have a /ahoy/ rep.

As the NijiEN rep here is my take:
If rosesenpai wants Rosebuta communites in NijiEN lands, he can do that. It would be interesting to see them in the same lands as say the Rose Knights I have. Our "Borders" in the Empire aren't political as ppsenpai said because we are trying to reflect that the main thread has all of the groups in it in a way that is sensible. I understand he wants Rosebutas to be different that Rosebuds, but ultimately /rose/'s own lore as a thread isn't isolationist and both Pentomos and Pomudachi played great roles in the thread's history. It's his decision but I have no issue with it on my side for him to do some things in NijiEN.

Throwing aside any Niji vs Holo(and other) perceptions It makes more sense for anything north of Nasfaqq and divided by a body of water to be a part of the HoloContinent instead. Yes Continental divides can be pretty arbitrary but there are still geographical barriers that contribute to their separation from other continents. The only Holo land that should probably be classified as a part of the Nijineutral continent would be /ahoy/, as they exist on the same plate as Nasfaqq and a part of /#/.

I'm not sure about when people started using the Urals as a dividing line between Europe and Asia but every continent on Earth have some reason to be considered separate or separate enough except for Europe and Asia. There's a whole sea separating the long landmass from /towa/ all the way to the northern part of Nasfaqq. The Sinai Peninsula serve as a point of separation before the Suez was built. Yes I know how the names Africa, Asia and Europe came to be. Yea, I'm lucky on that front, I just don't get hungover unless I actually go over all the limits to the point where I puke out everything I drank before even falling asleep. Usually when I go to sleep drunk I wake up a few hours later like nothing happened, just really thirsty.
