I get a little insecure around Christians because of experiences I had at church growing up. I love the divine and believe that the human experience is a gift from a higher power, but I truly don't believe that salvation is only found through Christ. Do they need more? The more people you have, the more disadvantages there are. Disease, crime, wealth ineqaulity, etc. By having fewer people, all of these rates should drop save for certain crimes (murder for example would remain proportionally correct but would see an overall decrease). Like I said before, the only reason why you would need more people would be to wage war. But even then, a conflict requiring a huge draft to warrant such a thing is pretty much in the past now. Nuclear weapons, drones, electronic warfare, and in the near-future robotic warfare, have all but elimated the need for more.

Only less developed countries see a benefit for more people. And that's simply due to inefficiencies in their infrastructure and design. But even such trends predict a decline in birthrate overtime, as the beliefs will change from "You need 5 kids!" to "You need 3 kids!" to "You need a kid!" due to those nations developing into where first world nations are now.

In the end, infinite growth is just silly. If you told someone "Want 10 acres of land for $100 or 1 acre of land for $100", the choice is obvious. Less people is better overall. This isn't Fallout or a Zombie Apocolypse.

Old people die. In order to replace each old person dying a two children need to be born to each couple. However only having two children will still lead to a population decline due to factors outside everyone's control. Some people may die before they can have children for example. Japan's pretty advance medicalwise, so we'll say they need to have three children per couple in order to maintain their current population. An aging population means people aren't having three or more kids per couple, they are most likely having one or two kids. As I said before, people will eventually die. As it currently stands, Japan can literally not wage war. It's just simply not allowed to per Article 9. The only war it can wage is a defensive one, but if that happens there's a huge other issue. While Japan cannot officially join NATO, due to the previously mentioned article, it is considered a partner. As such, if a power were to declare war against it then NATO would declare war against the other nation(s). But yet again, a war of that size is rare. At that point, it won't come down to the infantryman and his rifle but to the silos in the mountains. I've been in and out of college for the past six years and I'm not even to the halfway point of reaching a bachelor's degree. I'm already significantly older than anyone else in my in person classes. Any job that might have led to a career I've avoided because it would get in the way of classwork.
