The Position of /nasa/ as A Writing Element Following the Dissolution of /nasa/ Act

/meat/anon's offering:

1. I will not remove every pre-established lore such as GD, Cassandra and her powers, Bread Dog production, and the named characters.

2. The absolute fate of Lammington will be leaving /vt/ to symbolize roommate followers. However:
a) The schizo attack will now have less casualties, signifying out-of-universe's calm graduation and in-universe's allies coming to help.
b) The remains of any space-tech left behind will be kept by Sanalite emigre. No looting.
c) I will not make the Janny attack epilogue (https://rentry.org/vtwbg-nasaepilogue)) an absolute ending. That will be retconned into a rrat in-universe.

3. I will not shoehorn /meat/ in anywhere or anything here. The character's role is now as an observer/auxiliary. Not a driving force.
a) Same goes for any non-Sanalites at the time such as the Onobot, Risuners, Hoomen, Brrats, Saplings, and Lunaito party.

/nasa/'s offering:

1. With the state of /nasa/ as a general is now legacy, dissolve power and authority to write for /nasa/ lore and establish a round robin one. Writing for /nasa/ (or any defunct legacy generals such as /rushia/) can now be done by anyone interested under the following prerequisites;
a) Does not completely retcon the ending and any other established lore.
b) Canonize only after the review and approval of multiple writers.
c) Takes place before the Graduation Arc.
d) Any Sanalites mentioned in stories post-Grad Arc are considered emigrants/naturalised citizens who left before the Graduation Arc. Their status is up to the writer of whatever nation they are in.

2. Compile every, any and all unfulfilled ideas you and Cunt had. Every single scrap even rumors back in /nasa/ for these can be salvaged, revitalised, and improved upon;
Plans such as
a) Speculative wildlife, space wildlife, unique creatures on-board Lammington.
b) Pre-descent space mythos and adventures. This includes their analogies of happenings on /nasa/ threads.
c) Sanalite cultural rites and traditions that were not fully fleshed out.
d) Every radical over the top ideas such as the Star-Child.

The contents of this deal are up to discussion until both parties are satisfied.
Once approved, this deal will be submitted for voting.

Sorry for the lack of reply. Truth be told, I had been doing my reps since you first asked it, but I admit the subject's not something I know much about. What I can tell you is that the /rrat/ highlands are formed by collisional orogeny due to the two continental plate crashing against each other. Since subduction is rare due to the plates having similar density, the highland is both tall and widespread. It's also probably a hot orogeny like the Himalayas due to its height implying the orogeny has been going on for a while (compared with the Alps for example), which has different implications, but chief among which being that magmatism would be (relatively) more common as the subducted plate is starting to melt, thus creating porphyry copper deposit. I don't know its implications on iron ore quality or even availability, though, so I can't really help you with it. Sorry.
Geologically, a good chunk of /who/ would be a retroarc foreland basin (since the top of the /rrat/ highland belongs to the same plate), where the fold has since been filled up with sediments coming from the eroding highland and/or evaporation of water being trapped in the lowland.

I wrote about industrial espionage in Lusitania. I included /who/ as someone who tried to steal secrets regarding our steel and metallurgic industry because I felt it fit rather well with their own desires. If anyone from /who/ wants me to change it or if anyone else wants included, I am willing to work it out. The basis for this section was to show why these industries are guarded so tightly, and given that Lusitania an armed neutral power, I thought this was fair and would have little effect on relations with /who/ for example, whom our government would already think of as a state that we aren't keen on trading with or making deals with because of the government and religion. (You are unironically similar to us in your foreign policy, but I could see your nation trying to figure out some things about us for you own gain in.)

Oh, hey Organic. I loved how you included watamelon into the history of Lusitania a lot since we are now officially neighborsI waited to say this until it was official/spoiler]. I have been sort of mapping out how the Caliphate's history works, and I think that gradual radicalization over time makes sense, and that a lot of our fights early on were against Nijisanji Powers like LazuLight, 2434, mhm and v7. (Bakatare, Ahoy, and Nijimales would make sense too but they do not have reps. Your lore for Lusitania and V7 thus far has given me the idea that Watamelon at one point was part of Bakatare before they split off under the principles of a prophet and formed their own state. Furthermore, I think until recently that we had good relations with Bakatare and Ahoy until radicalization, would like others feedback on this)

Thanks, I am glad you loved it as much as I did! one of the reasons I wanted to work with mhm was originally down to the relationship with Watamelon. We can work something out soon, I don't know what yet but maybe a raid and a counter raid, and we can flesh out history more together. Also a question as I think this could be something beneficial for all of us. Would you consider writing some lore for Bakatare to fill out our little region? I sort of have them in V7's history as the reason V7 went from a direct military power to a asymmetical power and thought it would be nice if we got some lore in there as well. Absolutely, I was actually thinking that myself since it is sad to see Bakatare without lore. I have two conditions however, and that is you use your map for Bakatare, (I'll think of the language, government, etc., give me a little bit on that) and that you try to line up my map with yours. I don't want you to bother doing my whole nation, just what is shown in your current map! Exciting ideas, overall that I think will really make our region alive after many months of being totally dead. The idea of us linking all of this history together is exciting to me as well; I loved how the Nijifriends did/are doing that because it allows us to establish a unified timeline. Also correct me if I am wrong, but isn't bakatare still scheduled to be swapped with /stars/? And there is also a proposal Mountain is working on that would remove and loreless and repless general from the map so we get space to place nations in the future and don't have a repeat of /mhm/ and /mans/ timeloops. bakatare/stars would fall under that, so the land where bakatare currently is could go to basically any general in the future, as long as they like the placement.

I don't think this should happen because Bakatare primarily a general for Watame and Flare to a degree more than FBK. The reason FBK is included is to allow the thread to survive. While Stars does need a better placement, perhaps, I do not think Bakatare should be swapped with it. I don't know if me being a Watamate myself matters on this, but I would like to have it where it is honestly.

Here is my question then because I understand there are nations that have lore on them that have never had a rep, if I wrote Bakatare lore, wouldn't that change this? I am not totally opposed to what he has planned because, honestly, a lot of the borders just look like someone drew squiggly lines on purpose. While it would have made more sense for ahoy, Bakatare, and Watamelon to be with other JPs and Moona, Pagi, and Zomg to be in this region, such a change would be an issue for my own nation right now. Had Watamelon had no lore, it would make more sense to me but this desicion should have been made back when Nuefag threw the map together.

This would be a loophole that would need to be addressed, as that could be done for basically any nation at the spur of the moment. Personally, I am of the opinion that if a nation has some lore, but no active rep (as in, noone has stepped up to rep for it for multiple months) it should still be affected by the Province Proposal, and the lore would simply stay in the archives as something a future rep can lean on when making his decision for placement.
And to answer this specific case, since you are a rep for watamelon, while you can still write for bakatare, you won't rep them. And if the rule above would be used in the Proposal, bakatare would still be subject to the "deletion".

One thing I personally am heavily leaning towards in regards to the Proposal would be that generals that have been mentioned in the past, either in stories or trade deals, general lore or historic events, would still be required to be placed in general areas, for example, /ggg/(although this is an outdated example, as touristbud did make a reappearance) would be placed somewhere in their current subcontinent, or at least in the near vicinity(hirys, amewat, pekora would be prime examples for possible placement that shouldn't break too much lore, while they might require some small edits here and there). Same with matsuri, as I remember Lunaito mentioning they have a pretty strong rivalry(or was it cold war?) between them.

That's why for now, I would suggest holding off on writing lore for nations that you do not rep, and instead focusing on your own nation. This is a big(if not the biggest) meta change proposal we have had since I came here, and I don't expect it to be finalized any time soon. I would hate for arguing to erupt because you(or any writer for that matter) spent weeks writing up the lore for a nation that would then be declared repless and be subject to have it's borders removed.

Let me give examples, LazuLight, pcg, and 2434 did not support this method but rather the old lore thing. mep, mhm, mans, wah did amongst those that voted Y. Vrt said it made no difference. Ok, time for a Cunt take:
I don't believe we should support reps writing lore for more than one general. Mentioning a neighbouring nation is fine and all, but writing full on lore docs on them just so everything in your corner of the world fits together nicely just doesn't sit right with me. We have had this with both /mhm/ rep and now watamelon. If you have the time to write lore about other nations, why not spend that time fleshing out your own nation more?

This would also put pressure on new reps and see that their lore page has already been filled out by another rep from a different nation. In a situation like that, they might feel compelled to keep as much of the old lore as to not offend, stiffling their own creativity.

And that I feel needs to be ingrained into the mind of every writer here. there is SO MUCH you can write about your nation, from detailing perhaps centuries of history, to detailing everything your major cities produce, trade, animal and plant life, the culture dear god THE CULTURE of your people, how it evolved over your history, etc etc. So much lore and details that can be explored that I feel you shouldn't even have the time to think about what your neighbouring nations might be doing, aside from some smaller details that you can change according to the developments with said nation.

Now, to clarify a bit, I'm not saying that you shouldn't write for your neighbouring nations that have reps, hell, nijis help each other like that all of the time, specially pp with /haha/. But you shouldn't write for repless nations so that they fit into your perception of how your corner of the world would look like. What if you write the lore for one of your neighbours about how your nations are constantly at odds with each other, and build your own nation off of that, and then a rep for said nation comes in and decided that nah, he wants to be friends with you?
You just wasted perhaps weeks of your own time, and now have to scrap all of that. And if you push for the rep to instead keep your two nations as enemies, you are putting restrictions on him from the very momemt he joined. And that would just make most people leave.

For a time I considered something like being a /NijiEN/ rep over /rose/, but I realized that even if I did so then I would be forcing the next person to take on the lore I left behind. Similar thoughts as the deadbeat here. But I do think that it's better for anons to focus just on one thread they frequent the most. Maybe /mhm/ and watamelon's writers can go to both /v7/ and bakatare and ask indirectly for a writer. Since they do know and frequent those threads they should face less resistance, even if I personally don't approve of this kind of method much. This should just be a guideline rather than a rule though.

Alright, since I am involved let me give my perspective.
1. V7 does have lore being written about it and it is nice. Bakatare doesn't, however...
2. If you ever decide to write for other nations near you, you should ONLY give a foundation, like I did with yeah and haha. If the Watamate, as I understand it, wants to make sense of his thread being what it is and Organic wanting to have a mild, unspecific history about the invasion and the loss of land in V7, that should be fine.
At the end of the day, if you want to write for a neighbor, make it as workable as possible for future writers and work under the knowledge that it can be deleted if the future writer wants to. Attempts, subtly, should be made about V7 in particular about getting a rep, because the truth is you can be a rep with someone else doing a lot of the writing. Same for Bakatare as well. Need I remind everyone that not one person had a problem with V7 being written by Organicbro until now and that we were all excited about it yesterday. This doesn't sit right with me and feels like a kneejerk response.

but it is also a prime example of why writing your own view for other nations is problematic. Panon went to great lenghts to even ask threads if they are fine with him writing it and got for example free reign from /haha/ only for us later to find out that a different part of the thread had actually been working on their own lore for quite a while

and while this might have ended well. it still was quite the mess at the exact moment.

and while the people writing for other threads might have good intentions. Even just small things like writing them to be friendly with your own nations is already affecting the political landscape of the whole world. the more you write for them. the harder it will for someone new from those threads to feel like he can freely change it and makes them feel forced to adapt in order to cause less trouble which can lead to them just outright quiting right there.

and when they DO change stuff then also, the more has been build up for them and the more they have been used to itneract with other nations. the bigger the mess will be later when everythign will retroactively be retconned.

that being said. no one says you cannot write anythign at all. the /mhm/ rep having set up some basic lore for /v7/ seems fine to me. it would only be an issue the more this continues to move further and further

Yes, I think having immigrants from other nijinations would fit quite well. It should not conflict with the overall religious views of the area -- a big part of why I recommended Shintoism to Alice in the beginning is because it's an inclusive religion, not an exclusive one. Shinto is one of the few religions that is completely fine with its practitioners adapting other religions and is perfectly okay with incorporating foreign gods into their own worship, with Buddhism probably being the biggest IRL example of this.

This is true! But the people not being particularly patriotic or nationalistic does not mean they don't love their country. In fact, I think it would make sense for the people to love their country -- as in the land itself -- quite a bit. But they would likely consider the land an entirely separate entity from the government. In fact, since it's Shinto and all, there is likely some believe that the land itself is a living thing deserving of love and respect. Hence, attacks against the land itself would still be met with fervent hostility, but disparaging and criticizing the government is unlikely to work anyone up into a nationalistic fervor. On a meta level, criticism of management when they do stupid things is very common, but it certainly doesn't mean fans hate Nijisanji as a whole.

Once again, hello and welcome! I think the way Alice originally depicted nijimales as calm and isolationist is fitting. Personally, due to all the "please look at my wife/husband" type posts that happen in nijimales, I think I would make it a culture with a strong emphasis on family values. Of course if you're going with the individual towns idea I proposed yesterday, then this would be a general culture, and individual towns might be different. As for the navy...yes, you should probably wait to get that done until you've more firmly established the foundation for your countries. I think a big reason Alice lost interest in internal affairs originally is because she focused so much on superficial things like naval power and foreign relations without first figuring things out at home. Those sorts of things are rooted in a nations' history and culture, so establishing them first and then attempting to make the history work with it can turn things into a bit of a mess if you aren't very careful.
