As far as I understand it, Twitch makes revenue from streaming in three ways:

* Selling bits (in which case they take their cut from the purchaser, whatever bits are donated to the streamer are all the property of the streamer)
* Taking a cut of subscriptions which starts out as 50:50 but can be negotiated in the streamer's favor if they get partnership.
* Ad revenue, of which Twitch gets like 90% of that.

I have not heard that Twitch takes from direct payment donations, most of which are done through alternative methods and not through Twitch directly.

The ad rate is true, but I don't know how YT's ad revenue system works nor how HL gets involved with that. I am pretty sure all ad revenue doesn't go to streamers, especially since they demonitize videos routinely.

As for the music, that's a thing in YT's favor for sure. Twitch's DMCA rules are draconian at best and there's a reason Nyanners and Ironmouse routinely do some karaoke sessions on YouTube when they want to sing songs that won't get them in trouble with Twitch. Twitch streamers are constantly paranoid about shit that is going to get their video nuked or them banned, to the point where some of them will nuke the VOD themselves just out of fear. Twitch's rules suck, so I won't argue in favor of staying on Twitch there, but I think the revenue part still favors Twitch over YouTube + Hololive. Not to become a numbersfag all of a sudden, but from what we can tell, the highest end HL's apparently make more than the highest end Twitch vtubers, but the highest end Twitch vtubers seem to be beating or competing with the lower high end / middle ground HLs and torching the lower end ones handedly.
