This situation really underscores how important artists are for vtubers.
Their work can literally make or break a vtuber, they have a lot of power.
You better choose the right artist, pay them well and hope for the best if you don't want to get shafted.
What surprises me is that Cover often hires well-known artists like redjuice, and yet the live2Ds they make for hololive are always shit. I sus pect it's because of cover's shitty proprietary software but I'm not sure it's just that, there has to be something else. Maybe deadlines? Idk it's weird.

Yeah. Cover has maybe two riggers who they hire regularly that actually know what they're doing, but they get mogged super hard by Iron Vertex.

But they also keep making the same mistake of hiring artists for brands and not artists who's artstyle is good for Live2D animation. I am not sure why they made this mistake three EN generations in a row, but whoever keeps making that decision should be fired.
