What do you think is the fate of the Holostars EN Gen 1? They're supposed to debut this year 2022.

Seems impossible for Holostars EN to survive under these conditions, which makes you think that Cover might try something totally different with hololive English gen 3, seeing how @holopro_EN was formed on July 1st, 2022.

I think they might be too late for the western fujo market too. Nijisanji beat them to the punch a long time ago. If they can find a niche that isn't taken by twitch himbo pogman, the effeminate nerd or the child groomer, they might have a shot because the second male wave pretty much flopped.

I think it would be a terrible idea honestly. I speak this as someone who watches both Hololive and Nijisanji and doesn't have parasocial relationships with any vtuber. With Niji, as soon as the boys dropped they hit it big. Way bigger than the girls did. Each of them makes more than an entire female wave and Vox makes more than all the girls combined. So a lot of the girls started doing more and more collabs with them to try to get a piece of that pie. It ended up with them neglecting their own content and focusing on collabs with people I didn't care to watch. It just soured the whole experience of having mixed-gender branches for me.
Outside of my own personal feelings on the matter though; No it's still a terrible idea because boy's humor is different than most girl's humor, at least in Hololive, and it would absolutely upset the unicorns to have them in the same stream unless the boys were on their strictest behavior. At that point why even bother having them in the same branch at all. All you end up achieving is upsetting a portion of your fanbase and not even getting bros being bros out of it. Seems like a bad business decision.

The decision internally has been for EN to approach the question much differently hence their focus on moving away from "generations" and instead packaging gens as their own brand (HoloMyth, Hope, HoloCouncil)
"Gen 3" is slated to be a mixed gen with five people currently slated for its roster.
Two men, three girls. They wanted to make it even numbers both ways but they had a hard time with the male applications, most who got through early screening had to be dropped for various reasons.
The theme/lore is based around super sentai and they will be released under the title "HoloSentai"

They were supposed to be released soon after Councils anniversary event where they would be teased.
But Sana leaving and problems with their initial run of assets made that untenable so they have been delayed.
They will be releasing with a ten minute animated short mostly focused around their lore.
Current plans are that there will be a 3D series similar to hologra for them taking the form of a super sentai comedy/parody. The episodes will have a considerably longer run time however with a planned runtime of fifteen minutes (approx) per episode. With plans to increase the runtime depending on popularity. Current planned release schedule is every two weeks with four episodes mostly finished at this point (the aforementioned asset problems)

HoloSentai is a project primarily spearheaded by Yagoo in response to concerns raised around the shortcomings of HoloCouncil and other recent generations. There has been a lot of talk internally that Hololive might be getting into a rut, becoming unable to innovate thus leaving it vulnerable to competitors and making it unattractive to the quality of talent they're seeking to attract.
The goal here being to create a web series whose stars you can interact with in that vtuber context and whose fans can have more influence as a group over how the plot of the series progresses. Hopefully driving engagement, merchandise sales and advertising possibilities.

At this point there is some talk of a late august early september release date.
By that point the Sana mess should have died down and all asset problems been resolved.

There are three factors behind this particular part of the decision.
1. Cover is a Japanese company. Its product hinges on being Japanese.
2. The past success of particular adapted super sentai series suggests a market that is currently untapped.
3. A fantasy derived concept was drawn up initially but failed to arouse any excitement in management who felt it was too similar to what had already been done.

Also another thing worthy of note: If HoloSentai fails there will be no new HoloStars in the forseeable future. With senior management deciding that if this flops they'll concede the male streamer arena to Niji and instead focus on their primary product in HoloLive.
Basically Yagoo is throwing all his remaining influence and prestige at the company into this. If it fails he will be in effect sidelined by the rest of management, relegated to public face and spokesman rather than any actual responsibility.

Honestly, not too sure.

I feel like most of the current EN roster basically is a no go with male talent as is, so don't see it flying as a mixed gender generation. IIRC, the only ones who have interacted with their male counterparts at all are Bae and Calli. The others have had a year or two to collab with their Holostars Senpai but haven't, so don't see what that would change.

I think EN Stars will probably be similar to ID with only 3 members each time and separated from the others unless they choose to interact.
