Yeah, well I think many feel bad because she just had one bad thing happen after another. Like some anons here or on the board itself are genuinely fucking stupid and think Sana was just lazy, even prior to back injury. You are mistaking the accusation of “laziness” to be just about not putting the hours, which she didn’t but very few people accuses (for instance) Risu of being lazy despite putting only 5 more hours than Sana in July.

This is the most important thing of all possible qualifications to get into Hololive, though no one will ever admit it out loud.

There's a reason so many Holomem have tragic backstories and it's not just because Yagoo is a saviorfag, part of Hololive's recruitment philosophy seems to be that people who start from a terrible place will do whatever it takes to get out of that position, and it works out for the most part even though it also produces spectacular failures when it doesn't.

Council was comparatively full of underachievers because none of them were desperate like their senpai were in the past. In order to truly thrive in Hololive you need to be at a point in your life where you're at the end of your rope and the long shot of getting into Hololive is your last chance at achieving your ambitions.

It's part of how they pull you into the groupthink of caring about your genmates and idol culture, they create a situation where those things provide emotional solace and catharsis as a counterpoint to whatever issues you have outside of Hololive. Ironically, Sana instead of a tragic backstory ended up becoming a tragedy after joining Hololive, entirely due to her back injury caused by a freak accident.
