It did bum me out to see that Irys basically had to prepare all her shit herself for her anniversary. She fucking lives in Japan and yet Cover leaves her to fend for herself like a neglected stepchild.

I really hope that her new outfit is actually a completely new character model with a different artist that will actually give a shit. The JP branch is still really strong. They have a monopoly on some of the best talents in the industry. Pekora for example.

The EN branch has Gura. But other than her, they're really not doing well. They're stagnating really badly, even falling below the NijiEN's in their sub growth. It's going really downhill for them. And they're getting treated like 2nd class citizens by hololive management.

I think they are not as competent as most people tend to assume. I think they are basically as competent as any of the smaller corporations, except they have more resources. Some of their decisions have been very questionable. And their management has been very bad in certain instances. Look at how badly they ruined Haachama for example, she used to be quite popular. That's what happens when management hates you because you're not physically attractive. Unlike girls like Noel who get the red carpet treatment. Because although they're mediocre as a vtuber they're attractive, so they get all the preferential treatment.

The worst thing about them is the fandom, I think. I've never met a more toxic fandom ever. By contrast, I found the other fandoms to be very open, accepting, and quite comfy.

If you talk about a small indie in the hololive thread. What is the response.
Immediately people will freak out, go berserk on you. "Your post is not increasing the profits of hololive corporation, you must cease this activity immediately". But if you talk about smaller indies in the Niji thread, people are fine with it. They are very friendly and accepting. The consider the smaller corporations friends, and build relationships with them. It's quite a comfy environment.

I remember one instance when someone was posting a bunch of niji links, and accidentally included a link to one of their favorite indies. It turns out this person was supporting indies in their free time, and copy-pasted the wrong link. That's how supportive the fandom is. It's quite comfy. I love the fact there's a good gender balance too, unlike hololive which is 99.999% male.

Yeah they were supporting indies. Quite admirable, supporting the greater vtubing community. Very supportive fandom. Love it a lot. The hololive fandom by contrast is incredibly toxic and extremely hateful to outsiders. Overwhelmingly male too. Not a very fun environment.
