/nasfaq/ - NASFAQ General - Blondes&Hags Edition

Thread for the discussion of NASFAQ, a financial market simulator based on holding of coins that represent the members of Hololive and some of their mamas.
This is a fake stock market game meant for cute lolis to play, memes, and is not a real stock market (cryptofags will not be happy here , no real money involved, NO you won't get better at stocks from this).

Hi.

It has been over a week since the mutual funds update came out. It was rolled out in a mostly bare-bones state to try how the market would react for it, and to get an initial round of feedback. You all had the opportunity of trying your hand at either running a fund or investing into one.

We would like to hear your feedback so far. A lot of aspects of the mutual fund mechanics are up in the air, so please state your suggestions and grievances so we have a chance to act on them and improve.

Are mutual funds fun? Are they a good addition to NASFAQ? Do you think that either buying/selling shares should be changed or the way that funds trade? What features would you want to see implemented as the mutual funds are developed?

# Dev

Volatility for coin transactions made by mutual funds needs to be further nerfed, it's wrecking regular play.
>What features would you want to see implemented as the mutual funds are developed?
A way around having to click in and out of every single share to check our pending orders. An autotrader for mutual funds to use for their coin transactions because it's clear that several people are already botting. Share stock splits and reverse stock splits.

I think funds are fine for the most part, maybe I missed some of the post release bugs but for now they seem fine. Other than an autotrader for funds a way to check how much you're actually paying for buying a share should be added.

funds is a great addition to the game, most of us, if all, uses it so i see it as a great sign.
>suggestions
eh pretty much suggested already.
the one thing i want to add is that i got the impression that mutual funds are supposed to deflate rushia value so idk what happened with that, that's why i got the vision that mutual funds are a super high risk high reward, the kind of risk that make or break leaderboard, which is one of the main reason i am really excited with this, to make this short, i hope someday the devs adds a more "gambling" kind of feature that i can go all in and just hope for the best.

They're lots of fun! They give another option besides buying coins for long term gains
>Do you think that either buying/selling shares should be changed or the way that funds trade?
Seconding the other anon, I'd like funds trades to have less of an impact on the market volatility. Increase the quantity of shares that can be sold at once while while keeping the buying capacity at 1000 to limit the quantity of shares that exist at once for a company
>What features would you want to see implemented as the mutual funds are developed?
Reward players who keep buying shares of a fund beyond dividends. Give advantages to players who possess over half of a fund shares

Make share price update more than once a day, it wouldnt be a problem but you also have a "be accurate with your share buys or get nothing" policy. Networth/Shares isnt that much server load.
Nerf the fund weight harder, /5 has adjustment dips gone within 4-8 hours which doesnt just hurt mutual traders but the standard game is dead too, /10 or /20 please.
Autotrader pls, as >>27394364

Yes.

Currently funds only profit on transactions where the coin is displaced by more than 22%. This severely limits trading opportunities for funds, as they will otherwise have to take a loss if they want to stock up on coins, and they have much fewer opportunities to sell.
Additionally, there is currently very little real mechanical incentive to purchase shares in a fund if you are not also a member of that fund. The returns on your investment are currently extremely small; smaller than most Holos, even. The only thing funds help are players that legitimately have more liquid than they can physically spend in a week, giving them a tiny bonus in dividends in exchange for relieving them of some of that money.

The system as it stands is fine for the most part, but it might need some numbers tweaks here and there.

youre ignoring the fact that the share itself also grows in price to sell at a profit later
temple of trade has gone from 3333 starting price to now bordering on 10000 in about 8 days

You don't have to be a member to benefit from purchasing fund shares. See below.
I am in more funds than anyone else. The 1.5% is split between all board members. It's little more than statistical noise at a high enough net worth.
>>27405620
It got buried in the auto-saged cunny thread, but there are already 6 funds that have doubled their starting share price. I am only in sneed's, but I have shares in all of them. It's definitely worth it, and it's worth it to buy early. >>27282428

I suppose you already plan on doing it, but add the option to change things like the fund's description. Currently you cannot chose the blank icon for a fund, please add that and maybe consider the possibility of having custom icons (just add the rest of the unicode block).
Give CEO/Board Members control over the issuing of shares so they have more control over the fund raising.
Also, give them control over div distribution, so they can choose whether to reinvest the dividends into the fund or pay the shareholders, and let them choose how much the shareholder get paid (maybe a percentage of divs, or a fixed percentage of the share price). This would add a lot of depth to the system and would make competition amongst funds really important (using rates to attract investors, etc.) and would also make buying into a share require more research into the fund. Currently, you don't have to think too much before buying into a fund. Let funds choose their own rate for the sales of their stocks instead of the fixed 1.5%.
Add the option to assign custom permissions to members/roles. Make it so that board members that join before the fund goes public can also invest an initial amount of liquid, and give them shares just like the CEO. I would like to have the possibility to make a joint fund pooling money with another player but I can't cause only one of us has to burden the initial investment and the other can do nothing to help.
Also, while the 10% tax rate is nice and exploitable, it takes away some of the depth that comes with the progressive tax system that we currently have for players. I'm not suggesting you make it exactly the same, but maybe come up with something a bit more elaborate.
