Hey /vt/ I hope you have listened to this song about 20 times and you hate it already. I listened over 10 covers before listening to the original and I was blown away by how good it sounds, even more if we compare it to the weak covers out there.
I think the reason no one can cover is singing skill (duh) but also vocal skill, as in voice acting. The singer just does too many things during the song for anyone to keep up. Original Ussewa is insanely good on vocals.
I don't think people get just how insanely hard it is to pull those grunge/alt rock grows Ado does and transition them into belting in a melodic fashion, literally only ever seen it/heard it done better by Adam Gontier back in the old Three Days Grace days. Her technique is out of this world

It's funny; as a song I like it more than King, but it gets old after repeated listenings way faster than King. I was able to listen to way more covers of King than Ussewa - I could line up 3 in a row for King and only be slightly done by the end, but I can't really do the same for Ussewa. Probably something to do with how central Ado's vocals are to the experience.

The "everyone plays the same game at the same time" thing is just because of permissions. I haven't really noticed them releasing covers of the same song within a small timeframe; they tend to be decently spaced out. Unless you're talking about their singing streams, that's just due to them only having permission to sing a certain set of songs so there's bound to be overlap.

Since King was brought up I will bring up the fact that both of these songs revolve around being able to hit specific parts of the song for me to view them positively. For King you have to really be able to hit the high notes with power during the "You Are King" part. Only Risu has really done this successful and even the Kuzuha version with 17 million views doesn't even come close.

For Ussewa you obviously have to be able to really rip out those growls and out of the covers I've heard Kizuna Ai pulls this off the best.
