I want too travel to France and propose too Saruei/Rael, I would hold her close and tell her how Loved she is, because at her core: She really is a good person who speaks for a shared neurosis as a kind of psychopomp. I haven't experienced it myself but have done some research into lucid dreaming and dream related stuff and have a vague idea of how it works. Dreams are essentially amplified visualizations. Visualization is basically perceiving without an external stimulus. The way you usually perceive with any of your senses is by taking in an external stimulus and translating it into a perception, be it sound, sight, smell, etc. A dream or visualization is just a memory or recreation of a stimulus, but in the dream state it still feels very real so even with no external influence you are creating the sense of whatever you're imagining. Sleep paralysis then is when your body (physical, muscles, any conscious movement) is asleep, you yourself are technically awake as far as awareness is concerned, but the REM sleep part of your brain is switched on, so you are again perceiving without the external stimulus. Because this is a fucking terrifying feeling, your mind is then flooded by scary thoughts, which are translated into seeing and hearing fucked up things. You are awake, but dreaming, the opposite of a lucid dream where you are asleep, but aware.

I assume schizophrenia and hallicinations work in a similar way. Perceiving without stimuli.
