2628835 No.2628835 [Reply] [Original]

It goes without saying that nobody is forcing you to watch a given vtuber's stream from start to finish. They know most people are just going to watch what they're interested in and might not even tune in for the whole stream. It's not like a TV show you have to watch start to finish, it's something you can hop in and out at your leisure.

That said... there are people who actually watch all the streams for their favorites, aren't there? And if you miss any you go back and watch the VOD. How do you handle it? Some of them regularly do 12 hour streams. Do you really set aside half a day just to watch a VTuber? This question is prompted by seeing that a certain someone has been streaming SaGa Frontier for over 16 hours without stopping.

So far I’ve watched from beginning to end:
>Every Gura stream
>Every Ame stream
>Every Haachama English streams (53)
Plan on watching:
>Every Ina stream
Considering watching:
>Every Mori stream
Disabled so no work, I just play games while watching.
Obviously EOP, but if I understood JP I would like to watch Subaru, Pekora, Rushia, Luna, Kanata, and Korone.

I watch clips sure, but many of my oshi are unfortunately not popular or known enough to be clipped. I can’t catch everything but I always just want to at the very least be there for them, even if its just keeping my computer on during their stream. I just really like them and want to contribute at least something with my useless and pathetic life, even if its completely worthless.

I'm an Euro that works from home, I work 6 hours a day and I always have a stream on in my other pc, I finish my work around 2 PM and thats like 9 PM in japan so I usually order food or cook something and watch my oshi that usually starts at those hours (Korone) when she does endurance streams she usually streams till 2 AM in here so I go to sleep, sleep 6 hours and repeat, yesterday I watched her till 3 AM but I was tired and went to sleep, I'll watch the rest today when Pekora finishes her RE stream or this evening during dead hours
tldr: Yes Korone is my oshi and I watch all her streams from start to finish, in fact when she doesn't stream for that long I have a lot of dead hours

I work from home but end up having very little VOD watching time because my job is prone to constant interruptions and also because of streams happening in the middle of the day, it usually takes me all day to watch 1-3 hours of VOD.
I watch every single Ina stream live from start to finish but she has tons of old VODs I haven't watched from back when I was trying to keep up with all of HoloEN which was obviously impossible, I really want to go through all her member streams at the very least at some point though.
Gura VODs are usually my highest priority after Ina since she usually starts streaming 1-2 hours before I go to sleep, so I can pretty comfortably watch the second half of the stream as my VOD for the next day unless it's something I'm terminally uninterested in, though unfortunately I'm sure those are going to be completely replaced once Ina quits her job and goes full time.
Outside of that, I'll pop in and out of streams but I rarely touch the VODs unless it's a special event or a particularly exciting collab.

Yeah, she's very vague about it and only talks about it lore terms ("the shrine"), but she's contracted to a JP company and works on JP hours, which is why she has such a fucked up schedule, as far as I remember she said she took the contract right before debut and it's probably for a year, so she should be done around the anniversary.

>> No.2651997

>>2649608
Interesting. I thought she was in Canada so I wonder what job for a Japanese company that isn't Cover entails working from overseas. Now that is concerning though to hear that her schedule is only fucked up because of the job because it actually synchronizes quite well with my west coast America schedule so I mean I guess I'll be happy for her having a normal schedule when it ends but it's gonna make it harder for me to watch her streams live.

>> No.2653235

>>2651997
It's obviously art related so the best guess I can pull out of my ass is some kind of agency that companies contact to commission stuff, she said something to the effect of "I took the offer because it was a massive opportunity to learn from priestess senpais" so it seems to involve other artists she looks up to.
As for her schedule, for what it's worth she's said she really likes streaming in the timeslot she has now, whether we can hold her to that or whether it's just cope on her part I'm not sure, personally I prefer to be pessimistic so it doesn't hurt so much if it does change.

If you're curious about what she's talked about regarding her schedule, she's said she wakes up around midday, immediately gets ready for her stream, starts work in the afternoon/evening and finishes in the morning, which seems to line up with regular office hours in japan given the time difference (she also specifically mentions getting Golden Week off), and she's mentioned having to "travel to/from the shrine" on occasion so I don't know if that means she has an actual contact office in her area she needs to check in with.
