I like fun so my oshi is Korone

/jp/ denizen and touhoufag, arrived there two years after the original split from /a/. Was there for Kizuna AI and the shitflinging about the creation of /vyt/, saw the rise of the four kings, was there for the christmas miracle, saw the love-chan/ai-pii/chinkAI clone drama, saw upd8 implode, saw the rise of Nijis, saw the gamebu retardation by Unlimited in real time, saw the /hololive/ and /vyt/ split, saw hololives' mainstream explosion. been here for all the Ichikara and Cover drama past 2019.

I went to /wsg/ in 2019, around november, then i saw the japanese vtuber thread and really liked the omesis webms. Soon after I saw Coco and Matsuri webms. Then around February 2020 I started watching all kinds of vtubers from all companies and indies almost everyday, many hours a day.

After the Aloe incident I felt kinda bad because it was my first experience with graduation and stopped watching daily. Now I only watch clips and I have no ishi.

>> No.2618434

No idea, only heard the term "VTuber" used around a year ago. Took to them immediately though, considering they more or less invalidate 3DPD streaming as a concept. I hope it leads people towards further virtualisation, fantasy and tech integration in the future.

Got a random recommendation of Matsuri's band-aid story, binged a bunch of clips, went on to livestreams. Senchou's 3d debut bumped her up to oshi status about 2-3 months after.

How I got into vtubers is just clips like alot of people but my oshi specifically, because of holotools I seen that she was going to play Death Stranding; a game I know nothing about but considered to be extremely boring and barely a game. So I had to watch.

Turns out she was all the things im into.

I watched Kizuna and Hinata back in the day, but I'll tell how I got into Hololive:
>youtube recommends me a video titled "fubuki noises"
>it's been a year since I watched a vtuber, but let's see this one, she looks charming
>she was charming
>she's from a group called "hololive", huh?
>look more
>see some aqua stuff
>huh she's nice I guess
>see Matsuri
>fall in love
>see Rushia
>fall in love
>see Haato
>forget about the other two and fall in love with her
At that point, there was no hope of turning back.

I found Miko through a clip of Pekora's stream, where she wants to blow Pekora back to the moon, but gets tricked to death by the crazy rabbit instead.

I thought her voice was so unique in a cute way, and I could really relate to her clumsiness, so I knew almost instantly she was the one for me!

Hilariously, it was in the lead up to Neptunia Virtual Stars. Someone on /nepgen/ linked a video clip of DOOG playing Doom 64 and the rest was history. Though I also did see them in the Azur Lane collab. Sadly I never got to keep Mama Mio (nor Matsuri but I really didn't care about her at the time). That was such a dick move on Yostar's part making a limited time collab character a "grind to keep" character.

I've only watched a few full streams though. But I have been watching shitposting review before it gets translated.

Korone's amazing Koikatsu card. I saw the girl I beat my meat to in youtube recs and here I am, a sad man who loves Okakoro and feels nothing but shame of what I used to use Korone's model for.

>> No.2627999

I saw the occasional Ai video when she was first making the rounds and thought "hey that's neat" but didn't look much more into it
then someone showed me Luna and Akari and again I thought "hey that's neat" but didn't keep up for more than a week or so
and after that I fell off hard until about a year ago when I discovered VOMS and got pretty hooked to Pikamee in particular. Still enjoy her streams (depending on the game, I won't lie this recent spate of nothing but monster hunter and RDR2 has been a turnoff personally) but at this point I primarily watch indies
feels weird that outside of another week-long stretch last year where I checked out a few Gura streams (because it was pretty much impossible to ignore her with how rapid her growth was) and the occasional Korone clip I've never really watched or had any interest in watching Hololive. Makes me feel like a stranger in a strange land sometimes on this board.

I'd seen some Kizuna Ai videos before, but forgot she existed. Later I saw Virtual-san wa Miteiru and realized I could watch the girls on youtube, but I was still being hard filtered by the Japanese language for a lot of the stuff. I got into HimeHina and Pakatube (if that counts) and had seen a few hololive clips. A friend of mine asked if I was into any vtubers and I couldn't name that many, which ended in me going back to /jp/ for the first time in nearly a decade. I happened to show up just as EN was announced and saw the entirety of their streams the first month, but Mori was really something special and became my oshi.

I was introduced to kizuna AI, very few views and it's more or less a interesting gimmick, it's like eilene but for non-shitposters.
Then after a big gap, I became curious about vtuber with proper schedules and everything. I typed GTA since it's always good for streamers and that's where I found Miko. After that I keep discovering Hololive and Nijisanji. I have my favorites and subs, but they're too big and I can't keep up with them.

I move on to Pikamee and her circle of chill and low traffic indies. Now besides pikamee, I enjoy Miki, Emuri, and Lyrica more than Hololive, specially when it now has the worse fanbase you can ever imagine.

I've been here since the debut of Kizuna Ai. I watched that fucking video and thought to myself
>bro, this shit is gonna get huge

>See Ai fuck you clip.
>Start following vtuber threads on /wsg/. Sub to Luna and Omesis.
>Watch Virtual-san wa Miteiru. Sub to HimeHina. Also start watching a bit of Sora and Fuji Aoi.
>Gradually start losing interest in vtubers. Only keep watching Omesis and visit the /wsg/ threads occasionally.
>Youtube starts recommending me Fubuki's meme videos and other Holo clips. Become a Holofag and eventually sub to all of them.
>Mio becomes my oshi thanks to her somen slurping ASMR.
>Eventually start watching Holostars. Get introduced to a bunch of vtubers thanks to them.
>Hololive starts to feel stale. Start following Animare and indies more closely. Also start giving some Nijis a try.

And that's how things have been going for these past few months.
