I used to briefly think Ars was a Holo, anyone else guilty of getting associations wrong?

Chuubas get it wrong too. A holo forgot Roboco was a fellow member while talking to her. Maximum cringe.

Now thats a rrat i want to hear more about.

>> No.2614299

When I first saw Hololive clips pop up on YouTube I assumed they were all indies. I last watched vtubers during the four kings era and I didn't know big corporations like Nijisanji and Hololive existed yet.

>>2614290
As far as I know it's not actually a rrat. I forget who it was but someone said something along the lines of "I'm so glad you're getting along with the hololive girls" during a call-in stream, implying that Roboco was not a holo.

>>2614230
No, just you.

>> No.2614375

>>2614328
No way that can be real, maybe the X person just said Robocos name by accident instead of the non-holo girl. I refuse to belive one of them would just forget their co-worker like that.

>> No.2614430

>>2614230
her design fits in with hololive more, so that makes sense.
I know all the holos so I don't mistake anyone for a holo, but I actually thought the fake trap vtuber was a niji until yesterday

>> No.2615696

>>2614375
I don't think it has happened on-stream, but Roboco mentioned once. She said that other vtubers/indies often forgot she was a part of Hololive because the concept of Hololive as a whole was still pretty new and the spotlight was on the girls who had just debuted. Keep in mind that even though Roboco, Miko and Suisei are now considered to be members of gen zero, each one of them was doing pretty much their own thing before the Hololive brand was properly established and became fairly well known in Japan.

Back then, when I was much more of a luddite as I am now, I thought Kizuna Ai was an AI with computer generated responses and movement. Mostly because it was my first time seeing a vtuber and she had the word AI in her name

>> No.2616067

>>2615863
Happened to me as well. I was utterly amazed at how natural she was acting (for an AI).
The comments didn't help.

When I was first looking up what Vtubers were I thought that 774inc was a foreign branch of Nijisanji, Miko was some sort of indie or a solo act for a corporation, and that Pikamee and Tomoshika were a part of Hololive.

I briefly thought Inui Toko was part of Hololive since she streamed so often with Suisei.

I knew about hololive before I actually got into vtubers, and my first vtuber video was an Ange video so I initially made that association.

I really like her bobbing her head to the rhythm of the dying cries of the merchant.

I had the opposite impression, I thought Noel wasn't a Holo because her model looked quite different from the rest

Lulu was one of the first chuubas I learned the name of and to begin with I had no idea she was a Niji and not a Holo
Also to begin with I thought Kizuna Ai was some kind of robot-AI thing (since I misread the name as AI and never watched anything from her channel)

Don't feel bad. Outside of the top earners, the lesser known ones are easily forgettable to associate with Nijisanji and I've subbed to them. They feel indie instead of being part of a larger company.

I think this was just a normal conception for a lot of people, believing that Ai was a real AI. It was quite fun back in the day to introduce new people to her and convince them that she was a real AI too.

You're not far off, that has always been Kizuna's character, an AI living in the cyberworld who communicates with the real world. That's the very reason she labeled herself as a "virtual youtuber" but the term stuck for pretty much anyone using avatars to stream.

any holo that isn't constantly spammed in eop memes are also indies
