The general rule of thumb is Twitch if your content is primarily based on livestreaming and YouTube if your content is primarily pre-recorded and edited.

>Do you think there's an audience for X, Y, Z content?
First, ask yourself if you would watch a streamer of your skill and experience. Second, do a check on social media and look to see if other streamers are already creating similar content. Don't limit yourself to vtubers, include traditional real life streamers to scope out a potential audience.

i do understand this is a very clear case of "just do it", but obviously it isn't that easy for me. i've been usually just asking people to collab and then let them get back to me. this obviously never ends in anything because you need actively push ideas and force them to listen to you. i'm just the kind of guy who never thinks they should push themselves forward "it's fine if they have someone else to hang out" this way i lost a lot of friends too. and obviously i'm not the person who ever get's approached so i just end up isolated. this is pure poison for streaming, any ideas on how to kill the brainworms?

How are you asking them? You can't just say "hey wanna collab?" And hope they answer with "Sure! What are we doing?"

You need to be upfront about what you want to collab with. "Hey, do you want to play/sing/fight me on my channel?" You're pitching an idea for a stream or video and how you begin asking is key. Don't be vague with anything.

If they already know and follow you, it's easier to get a positive response, but if not, just have to ask someone else.

I do exactly that and i never hear from then again. This way i lost a lot of friends too by not initiating conversation anymore, things just drift apart.

Hespera has insane fujo/yumejo and stacy energy so seeing a mix of someone who seems like they sound like a prep talk about anime is really funny
Lala does these really cute pre-game zatsus that make you feel very welcomed into her streams
Kaiser has a great passion for the he's he plays but also expresses himself in a manner that is very relaxing to listen to; watching him play league games and then watching him briefly review parts of his previous match is really insightful and I respect that

For collabs you should have an idea of what to do when asking someone. It's very rude and poor form to ask someone for a collab and then ask them to come up with an idea of what to do because you're just giving extra work to them.

Be prepared, have an idea of what to do and most important talk to them and know them before asking anything because collabs work best when you're familiar with each other.
