If you're on TV or youtube isn't everything parasocial? If you are a fan of Football, you feel happy when they win and mad if they lose even though you know your fanship does not affect the teams performance. If you watch a streamer you get to know them even though they don't know you. If you watch trash reality tv like a normalfag, you relate to the people in some way even if you know its all scripted and fake.

This is one of those arguments there 90% of the time the people are using the same word for different things.
The ones who are fine with it mean it in the most general sense (i.e., any sort of one-sided relationship, basically any celebrity fandom falls under this and arguably so do fictional ones.)
The ones who say it's bad are referring to a subset of that, the ones who are delusional enough to think a vtuber is their actual friend/romantic partner (something that isn't healthy for you OR them.)
There's occasionally someone who thinks all one-sided relationships are bad (and is probably weird about say, kpop stans and actor fans as well) or people who think "No X-chan really is my girlfriend, fuck you", but those are both unusual.
Basically: Parasocial relationships are fine so long as it's not an unhealthy one, but some people started using the word "parasocial" to refer specifically TO the unhealthy ones and made everything confusing. Just don't be a schizo and it's fine.

Calling any streamer an entertainer is pretty generous. They blatantly build their careers off of parasocial relationships. Not only are they entertainers but, just like regular streamers, there are different things that they tend to specialize in. Below are typical things that vtubers tend to specialize in:

-Gaming
-Art/Drawing
-Music/Singing
-Comedy
-ASMR
-Roleplay

There are more, but those are some examples. Plus, some of them had careers in singing, art, shitposting, etc before becoming vtubers. Hell, even Plague does vtubing now. He doesn't suddenly stop being an artist/entertainer because he puts on a cartoon fursona after dark.

Vtubers are inherently geared towards parasocial relationships.
They're all attractive anime characters by design, they interact with the audience and provide a sense of closeness to them.
This is a recipe to get people attached to them.
Some might just get a crush, some might get a feeling of connecting with them, different sorts of parasocial. But this is what they're built for.
Youtubers deal with this shit too but vtubers are literally built to sell a fantasy of an anime character.
Anyone shitting on parasocial dynamics is just a fucking idiot that does not understand the inherent mechanics of vtubing and youtubing.
On a scale of 1 to 10 just don't be a 9 or 10 obsessed about a vtuber, don't let it define your lifestyle, don't let it affect you emotionally as if it was a real person.
