Gura doesn't do kayfabe beyond acting cute and funny and Kiara is very honest, both in how readily she expresses herself and by how she maintains kayfabe as Kiara while also being open about how she loves idol culture and vtubing, and how she wanted to have a character like Pekora. I think she's done a great job of balancing both.

My grandmother, mother and sister (the only females I have any prolonged exposure to) all did that shit when they changed the pitch when they are talking with their friends or relatives. Oftentimes the pitch was way higher when they have tried to appease them. In a situation when they HAD to talk up some relative for a favor or talk "nice" with a colleague they couldn't avoid talking to - they used n+2 pitch and after phone call or talk ended, they dropped to n-2 their usual pitch, sometimes add some insults.

Women are all two-faced like that. They don't have "natural" voice. It took me years to beat that shitty female habit out of myself.
