It makes me happy to see people finding vtubers and enjoying them, because vtubing means a lot to me, and it makes me happy when I can see it make more people happy
Hololive popularized vtubers with idol-ish expectations for their relationship with their fans and I really enjoy that. I never criticized other types of vtubers, they can be a lot of fun. I don't think parasocial relationships or expecting her to be single in real life or whatever is cringe because I like what I like after all, and just ignore others and tell myself that they're just yelling to no effect

But every time people say the obvious of "there are no GFE vtubers in the west" and explain all the reasons why, I don't know what to do because I don't want to be a faggot about it but isn't that actual proof that if vtubing isn't gatekept somehow that eventually I'll lose something that makes me happy?

I just like being happy with vtubers and want people to be too but I suddenly feel like even if they don't intend to people are going to end taking something away from me and it makes me sad
