I wouldn't consider that the case at all. This concept sounds a lot more interesting, and wouldn't even end up being a two-cakes scenario (not that that's ever bad) with how different it is. Sure both stories are about (You) protecting Hololive, but if I consider my plans for The Cover Job and am correct in understanding your idea, then that's probably where the similarities end. If you ever end up writing this, I'd absolutely read it.

Depends, do you really want the ending to be there? Because an ending without any build up or development is pointless. If you want a short story based on a big idea, maybe write the introduction/beginning then stop writing at a point where the main concept is established and it’s implied that the story continues on from there and is open to interpretation. Say if holofantasy was downsized it could end when Anon beats Noel, meets Coco and is introduced to argomery. He thinks: “My adventure begins here!” And the reader assumes he went on many adventures with his dragon wife.
Or with holocalypse the story ends when he takes Aqua into his protection at the mansion and it’s implied he lived the rest of his days growing closer to her and protecting her from the wasteland while surviving.
Obviously these aren’t nearly as satisfying as a full story but if it’s a really big idea that you just don’t have to motivation or time to write, this is the best I can think of.
