Why do so many people want to become vtubers?
What's the appeal apart from money?
I would literally kill myself if i had to interact with other people for multiple hours everyday.

same reason anyone does youtube or twitch streaming, wanting a job but not wanting to leave the house.

I just thinking streaming would be fun and don’t have to do face cam

You don't have to worry about that in hololive.

I thought I liked games more than I thought I did. I feel that I can hold a conversation with an audience interacting back but realized most chatters are either underage or do nothing neets. There's a few adults who aren't also completely up their own ass but yeah far and few.

I thought it'd be cool to be an anime person because I have anxiety seeing my resting bitch face on the screen.

if you get big it's basically a perfect job
>work from home

this has zero appeal. i get being rich but what's the point of being famous

>money
you can invest anywhere from 0 to over10k$ yourself and if you don't hit it big with a corpo, it might take years for you to even turn a profit.

Money's only an intensive if you're already sort of established in the field you're vtubing into.

Why work hard when you can work smart. Even if only twenty percent of streamers in all of youtube get any real wealth out of it.

>20%
lmao, to give you an idea of how cutthroat it actually is, there was a leak in 2021 on twitch that showed how much each streamer earned in a 26 month period up to that point, and only the top 7500 out of 18 million streamers made above annual minimum wage (15k USD per year.) That's 0.041%.

you'd have to be really really dumb to try to have streaming as your main career with no backup plan. that's why the people who do end up making it usually have no real talents beyond streaming

If you were guaranteed moderate success like a couple thousand diehard fans that give you a roughly a thousand live views on streams would you become a vtuber?

>> No.24746151

>>24741072
Losers once said the world isn't a fair place because a lot of things are dictated by your look, but now obviously anyone can be a vtuber and get easy money since the sickos only want to fuck your avatar so why wouldn't they give it a try.
also weebs that worship japanese culture are everywhere.

Sounds like software would be a way more viable career path for that. I do that and I'm earning good money from home. Streaming/vtubing seems like a crapshoot.

I always wanted to become a streamer but my personality and face don't match.
I am also very average looking which probably wouldnt do that good. It also comes with a lot of other perks.

>> No.24750795

>fugly people
Won't be judged for their looks so if you have a talent for something related to entertainment this can be your only chance
>beautiful people (especially women)
Being a vtuber for them is a huge debuff so they either have self-confidence issues or they don't want to be recognized/harassed by fans irl. Some may have irl reputation/status to maintain (such as being an heir to a business owner)
>People who have talent/passion but are average in looks
Let's say you're a struggling singer/rapper barely making ends meet due to whatever reason (music industry is tough). You become a vtuber so you instantly get someone interested in you just because you're a vtuber and if you're good at music it sets you apart as a vtuber thus giving you a spotlight in this whole niche market. Many people /here/ hate Mori but she's the prime example of how literal no one became one of the best known rappers in vtubing
>People who already made content online
Sometimes you just want to give a go at another type of content but may not want to be associated with your other activities online (or offline). Some people will find out eventually but it will be only a minority cuz grey names will never look for info or care
>Other
So basically people who may have extreme social anxiety, be over the top shy or simply want to make money because why would you slave at your 3k/month job when you can earn 200k a month like Gura from memberships, right?
