What I'd like to see in Gen2 is more varied English accents, like actual British, Australian, Southern (more than Coco), and even a dual lingual Russian could be entertaining.
What I expect is for there to be at least one black female talent added to the group, as well as one Hispanic female talent that's dual lingual. While the first may be to drum up some social brownie points and YTReactioner bait, the second seems inevitable with the growing interest of Latin America with Hololive talents.
If the black girl is a Baptist accented weeb, and the hispanic one is a genki Shonen tomboy I'd be alright with it.

I think it's a mixed bag, since Hololive didn't start getting super popular until they started shedding the Seiso personas. Seeing a girl that's an idol act like an idiot, a dork, a closeted pervert or even just venting her feelings and frustrations helps make the relationship and personality behind the character at least feel more real.
That being said, I feel like EN has hit a quality middle ground between Idols and VShojo.

Had a dream last night where the next hololive generation was revealed, but I only saw one member.
She was short and very skinny, with a long blonde braid that she wore over one shoulder. Her personality was bratty, but she was also kind of oblivious and prone to her teasing back-firing. Hear me out. I'm thinking about JP, but EN is fine, too.
A gen with actual actors, with scripted dialogue, acting in a months-long play, with twists, story arcs, character development, and a satisfying conclusion. They can stream together between episodes.
Once the story is over, they can just become regular vtumors.

EN gen 1 girls collabing together is still awkward to watch for me. Haven’t seen a single collab that felt like a podcast, where they actually sound like a bunch of friends babbling with each other. So much awkward silence, terrible jokes, forced laughter, and forced delivery. I like them enough, but they don’t feel as close to each other as JP gens 3-5. I just hope EN gen 1 and gen 2 become closer as a group.
