This is mostly noticeable in the early gens, but why all of a sudden are so many in Hololive taking breaks or feeling depressed etc? Well, it seems like these specific members simply do not like what Hololive has become: a large organization which nobody thought would go anywhere originally, and now is branched into foreign markets outside Japan. This used to just be a chill company of JP girls, with some Chinese ones too, that did not have anywhere near as much expectations or rules put onto them. They also had to grind for 2-4 years, depending on when they debuted, in order to get where they are now. Meanwhile the newer gens barely even debut and already get hundreds of thousands of subs. There are also now non-Jap fans and members who make up a large portion of the community. I too would also be fuckin distraught and probably not give a fuck anymore if the company I worked for underwent such massive changes.

Bottom of the line is that Gen 2 in particular seems to be the one that has been burnt out the most in Hololive from where the company originally started, newer gens also gradually start losing interest because they realize that having little freedom, while everything is also thrown to you on a silver platter, can be a bit too much. I would not be surprised if another member leaves this year, probably under similar circumstances as Rushia cause having an extravagant celebration like Coco had for every member that leaves would be way too much.

The issue with Hololive is purely that it's an extremely competitive group and the girls are desperate for success, it's not only good enough to reach their goals, but they need to show results fast, and they need to do better than their peers too. We've seen this many times already, Pekora's constant numberfagging, Watame complaning about not getting enough subs compared to other girls, Koyori and Kiara "taking too long" to hit their sub goals. This is somewhat accurate but it's not unique to Hololive. It's just how the livestreaming community works. The old pioneers burn out and get replaced by new talent. For an obvious parallel see Nijisanji which has had tons of graduations. Hololive is a younger company so really they're just catching up. Since a lot of the holos seem like the type who'd be living life away from normal society anyway, I wonder how much of this stems from sharing a space with an increasing number of normalfags. Generally speaking but even moreso in non-western nations, you could talk about what you wanted about online 10 years ago without much resistance so long as you didn't do it in a space that was explicitly used by them. Now there's not really anywhere left that both provides an adequate platform for streaming and isn't shared by people who will run to twitter the moment someone starts talking about liking something that's not accepted by the public. The JP girls seem to be less affected by this so far, maybe since it seems that culture is more prevalent in the west right now, but you still have instances where big JP streamers like Kanae gets harassed on twitter because someone decided he wasn't allowed to recreate virtual gorilla in game.
Even if you disagree with that, I think you could agree that it would be interesting to what difference in stream quality/subject matter would be streamed without a filter on the girls
