I was an absolute mega nerd, but did a lot of underage drinking, drug use, pre-marital hand-holding, and graffiti.
But being in the UK, the hand-holding and drinking isn't noteworthy. Even the drug use wasn't a major issue (not just pot, not as hard as H).

It might function as a good basis for building your character - lean into the bad boy trope, but it's dependant on you having the voice to pull it off.

Do you guys have a particular method to decide who is worth raiding when you are done with your stream? It just occurred to me that I should probably only raid people that are at least affiliate.

early on as a streamer, i raided someone significantly larger who was doing a charity fundraiser, who i'd really enjoyed watching. she switched to "ending soon" before i got there, and embarrassed me in front of the stream for blindly clout chasing. i have since blocked her on all platforms for being a cunt.

but it gave me fears on raiding. i absolutely put more thought into it than i should, but it was really disheartening to have a content creator you like telling you that you're a clout-chaser who can't even pay attention to where they're chasing from, and not gonna make it.

i try to mostly raid into people i follow, preferably into games that are similar to what i'm currently playing. so if i'm playing overwatch, i'll aim for a fps.
i'll also look for special events - if someone is doing a birthday, anniversary, or something, i'll often aim there.

I usually aim for someone only twice the size of myself if they're not already one of my friends. I also try to follow the same vibe, so if I'm doing something chill I go to another chill stream like an art one. If I'm playing a horror I'll go to another horror stream.

Considering i'm a 2view, i'll only really raid if i have like 5+ viewers otherwise and i usually limit myself to streamers where i at least would bump it by 10% of their CCV. (So like 50 CCV at max) There's a couple streamers i frequent as a viewer and if i get the feeling they recognize me, i'll just raid whenever. There is no real rule, i've seen literal 1view raid on 100+ CCV channels which i sort think is a little awkward for the streamer, because you don't want to be a dick but come on.

Look at it this way, even if you have decent CCV, if you stagnate a little, that means that everyone watching is regulars. That isn't a bad thing, but raids outside of your sphere means potential new regulars, even if it's just a handful i think it could still be seen as a nice gesture. If someone raided with only themselves, i'd probably poke a little fun at them but stay friendly, think something like "oh hey there X thank you for the raid, uhm you might have forgotten to bring your raiders, but i'm glad you're here regardless." And then maybe do the raid shtick where you ask them what they have been up to and so on. If they get mad about that, then they are just bitter.

I want to debut with an original song, but I haven't got the faintest idea how to begin to write lyrics. Should I figure out the melody first and then choose my words based on what fits, or make the melody fit the words? Do I write like one would a poem or is a more straight forward story-like arrangement something I should be going for? I want it to be a slow, melancholy kind of song that (hopefully) tugs at the heartstrings, like a sentimental or torch ballad.

I can't read sheet music besides percussion, but I can learn any song by listening closely to it. It's apparent that music is particularly personal to anon, just give him encouragement and resources more than anything. I should elaborate.. I couched my question in a scenario I wasn't actually committed to. What I should have said is that I've got this dumb fantasy of making it into some big name corpo vtuber stable. My plan was/is for my audition video to include 40 or 50 seconds of an original song, not just performing a cover or singing some one else's words. My thought, my hope is that that degree of originally and effort will help it stand out since I'm afraid I am lacking in a lot of the areas they're looking for in a talent.

I'm fine with the idea of commissioning a backing track, I just want the lyrics to be personal. I don't know where to start and I was wondering if its easier to start with a melody or start with the lyrics. One thought I have is a worry that trying to match lyrics to an established beat might be too restrictive or hamper what I would want to write. On the other hand having a beat gives a structure to write around and might make it easier for me. I really have no idea.

To be fair, doing that kind of voice is probably pretty difficult. His voice is pretty low and raspy probably takes some practise to perfect that. Funny enough the low quality made me feel like i was watching an old 50s VHS recording of someone singing the song, which kinda fit the genre of music there too.

I don't really have an advice for you, generally i believe if you do it under the guise of karaoke any skilllevel goes, if you want to impress outside of your stream, singing reps are probably required because vtuber sphere is very adjacent to singer sphere, everyone has good voices and theres so many. Nothing wrong with doing what you enjoy, but without serious effort it's not gonna translate into numbers. It might give you a little of a personality.

I want to sing metal, but i know i need practise to have it sound passable and for it to not destroy my voice. In the end it's a skill you have to nuture the only advice i can give you is to commit to it maybe get a vocal teacher or something if that's within your reach and see if you end up enjoying it.

probably rigging because its a more acquired skill while a lot of people are decent at drawing. drawing i suppose has a higher skill ceiling while rigging has a higher skill floor, but theres a reason model drawings at most cap out at a few hundred while rigging can go in the thousands

they are not unrelated to each other. a lot of riggers have wonky angles and it's blatantly obvious to anyone who has some drawing experience. riggers overcharge because they can. don't be blinded by fancy physics, the best way to tell if a rigger is worth his price tag is checking angle XY and mouth rigging.

From my experience, rigging is the hardest of both, I can both draw and rig so I can tweak the psd file if needed but if I was a purebreed rigger life would be suffering if the artist doesn't know what he's doing.

i forgot that cut model art cost a lot more, i was thinking of uncut illustrations since he didnt mention cutting as part of drawing. and sure obviously knowing art principles will help you rig, but at the end of the day you are still turning knobs and moving sliders til it looks good, it doesnt require muscle memory or precision of drawing or color theory, etc

I've been having trouble with networking. It's tough to find people with content that I like because there's so many that just play the mainstream shooters, MOBAs, MMOs, and Genshin. While >>24211116 definitely paid more than the average person, "a few hundred" is far from where the average model caps out. If you're getting a Live2D model with no expressions aside from the artists' pre-made generic ones, no base, and very limited layering then sure you can pull off a few hundred. Most of the more in-depth stuff is in the high hundreds though while the higher tier shit that no one but already established chuubas even need is in the thousands.
