The problem is not having more content, the problem is having too much content at the cost of all of it being mediocre/bad/not worth looking at. It makes things worse for you as a creator too because people are already intimidated by a large backlog of content to catch up on, since most people have lives and only have a certain amount of attention span to dedicate to things.

This is why shorts, and well produced videos under 10 minutes, are so popular and the best way to game the algorithm because not only is the immediate time investment needed to finish a particular video very low, but also, it is very easy to become a dedicated fan of the creator through catching up with all their other content. Once you nail that investment, it will be a lot harder for that person to ditch you and move on to other stuff because sunk cost.

The difficulty in Elden Ring is just tedious because most of the stuff that kills you is bitch moves where the enemy does some attack with the hitbox of most of the area or something with so little windup that you can't possibly react to it. It's often not clear how you can avoid certain attacks until you've seen them at least 10 times.
Sure you could learn how to fight most enemies flawlessly eventually, but it's usually about learning some hyper specific speedrun-like strategy, and it's just not that fun to figure out.
Anyway, if that's what you like, I'd suggest Monster Hunter, which has a similar tedium of learning, but makes it more fun.

Pretty much seems that way yeah, and even Elira in her more recent stream of Dark Souls 3 (which was actually almost more than two months ago now) pretty much laughed off the idea of her also playing Elden Ring.
Rosemi is also nowhere near finished with Sekiro and (for all intents and purposes) seems to have dropped it or at the very least indefinitely put it on hold.

Luca however seems to have actually played and even finished Sekiro in a more recent stream of his though, which makes all the rrats about him costing NijiEN FromSoft perms all the more ironic and funny really desu

Anon, they make most of their money from memberships, despite what /vt/ touting superchats would have you believe is a measure of "success", even though most of the top youtubers don't even bother with it and the site that calculates it doesn't even account for ones sent in member streams. It would be good if both were high but with residual ad revenue, membership, sponsorship & merchandise, con appearances and song sales and streams, why bother with what is essentially an expensive tip? DS2 is unironically better than ER, and I say that as someone who hates DS2.
The combat suffers more in DS2, however basic map building is 1000x better as is even the enemy design.

There is still a sense of purpose to your exploration in DS2, you want to discover every nook and cranny of the map because every nook and cranny actually matters.
In ER the entire world is an empty wasteland of pointless crafting materials filled with pointless bullshit and side dungeons that are copy and paste with a useless ash summon at the end.
Exploring ER is a chore, while exploring DS2 still lets you discover cool and interesting things so its worth doing.

OW games work because there's variety and different locations.
Ironically DS2 and all the other DS games had more world variety than ER.
In DS2 alone, the shrine of amana and gutter is a far different area than the rivers underneath. Every main section of ER is just a castle, a castle in the sky, a castle underground, a castle in the snow, a castle in the lava. It being an OW game makes this even worse, because you spend all this time exploring and its all the same shit.

Meanwhile in DS2 you have a floating lava castle, which made no sense but its something. You had haunted woods, you had an underground water shrine, you had flying dragon islands. So much more variety despite the game not even being half as large.
