Man. I think this story is suffering from like three things right now half baked ideas, scope creep, and blowing its narrative load during the Japan/Vienna chapter.
Though I guess in some ways they're all sort of tied to the story expansion done when expanding the initial chapter from a rough concept into something bigger with expanded looks into the slices of time that were initially presented in that (for lack of a better word) 'demo' chapter. Since the thing kind of needed those ideas and scope expansion in order to actually have stuff to populate the chapters with since the story wasn't running on the Kiara fight slowly burning into a romance anymore... especially since the Vienna chapter has basically made them a couple now. It's still interesting enough to keep me reading but damn are cracks starting to show.

I appreciate the feedback, I certainly feel part of the problem is that I've been meandering towards bigger payoffs again. It's a bit of a narrative dive, from the high of Japan/Vienna back down to the setup with the Revolution. I had initially planned a 'padding' chapter after this one in the form of the Civil War, but truth be told I've opted to skip it and maybe include it as a side chapter if I ever decide to write it because the next narrative beat I want to hit is in Victorian England. I can tell you that it's not going to stay that way, and I hope it's worth it to you when all is said and done.

Practice makes perfect maybe an overused expression but writing is something where a good feedback loop of writing and getting feedback for it will make you get better at it naturally.
As for word use... just read more. A dictionary helps but you need practical experience in knowing how a word is used, and reading is pretty much the best place to learn.

Ah, thank you. very much. I wish I had a satisfying answer for that. There's not really a process involved. It's just stuff I think would be cool to see in a story or things I visualize while working/walking around and opt to put in the thought cabinet and obsess over until I get the chance to write. Because if it's the latter, you don't really need more than that for a doujin plot, since the actual 'plot' both you and the theoretical audience want is in the pages of sex. I'm not sure about the process going from 'a' to 'b' but I think the next thing in the step to turn that idea to doujin is probably planning out how you're going to split the pages and or write a more detailed outline with how you're planning on telling the story.
